IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria for Regular/Fulltime Candidates for IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Program are as follows:

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or science (4-year program) or a master's degree in science, MCA, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of 60% marks for GEN/OBC (55% for SC/ST/PD) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute or a minimum CGPA of 6.0 for GEN/OBC (5.5 for/ST/PD) category on the scale of 10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10 (for example 4.8 for GEN/OBC category (4.4 for SC/ST/PD) on a scale of 8) or a first-class as specified by the university/institute.
  • For Regular Full-Time Applicants with Financial Support: The applicant must either have a valid GATE score or be exempt from GATE according to the MHRD circular or have qualified in an equivalent National Examination or the written test and/or interview held by IIT Jodhpur.

  • At the time of application, the applicant must have a minimum of two years of work experience (after obtaining a qualifying degree) in industry/R&D laboratories/Academic Institutions. The applicant must pass the IIT Jodhpur written test and/or interview.

  • MTech Admissions are based on a GATE Score followed by valid COAP counseling.
  • For Part-time candidates, Candidates are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization 
  • Candidates in the final year of their programs and who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the third week of July 2023 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Admission to M.Tech (part-time) programs is restricted to personnel of Public Sector Undertakings, Government Departments, Research and Development Organizations, and Private Companies (as permitted by Faculty Boards).

IIT Jodhpur MTech Assistantship

Shortlisted applicants who are admitted to the IIT Jodhpur M.Tech program will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 if they have the required degree of B.E./B.Tech./B.S./B.Des. and have passed the GATE/GPAT.
