IIT Jodhpur to Offer BTech Courses in Hindi from Academic Session 2024-25

IIT Jodhpur to Offer BTech Courses in Hindi

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has announced that it will now offer its BTech program in both English and Hindi languages from the academic session 2024-25. With this step, the institute aims to help students who are struggling with English proficiency.

As per IIT Jodhpur, students in the BTech program will be divided into two sections as per their preferred medium of education before the commencement of the academic session. This initiative was approved by the institute's senate to provide education in the native language to students.

The official circular reads, "The Senate noted that IIT Jodhpur-being at the forefront of Technology, Science, Humanities, and Management- is expected to impart education in the native language to help the students, who face challenges in learning because of inadequacy in English proficiency".

“This initiative is designed to ensure all students can learn effectively in the language they are most comfortable with. Both sections will be taught by the same instructor, maintaining consistency and quality. This is a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive and supportive educational environment at IIT Jodhpur", the tweet further added.

IIT Jodhpur BTech Program 2024 Admission Process

IIT Jodhpur offers admission to its BTech program based on marks secured by applicants in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024). Those who are shortlisted for admission can select their preferred medium for the program during the application process. Accordingly, they will be allotted a section for classes.

"The first-year courses would be taught for English and Hindi sections by the same instructor to ensure the same rigour in the teaching-learning processes. This Circular supersedes all the earlier circulars, for the medium of instruction, in totality,” the circular added. This decision aligns with the vision of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
