Vnit review form 1 st year students

Likes

College is beautiful and have separate department building for all courses which is wonderful.
Some additional building are here for academic work and most of professer life here they have separate house.
Hostels in 1 st year are triple sharing which is good for interactions and starting a journey with making new friends and form next year you get single room

Dislikes

First year boy hostel end time is. 8 pm which is some disappointing.

Admission:

I have given jee main and jee advanced both and got decent rank in jee mains but in advance I got low rank even I have both options to get iit and nit . I am getting new iit lower branch so I choice nit . I josaa and csab counselling I got nit Durgapur , nit Bhopal, nit jamshedpur, but last I have choiced vnit nagpur which is 800 km form my home.

My Experience at VNIT Nagpur

Likes

I liked the location of collage it is based in IT Park of Nagpur which is very prime location.
The campus is very well maintained and lush green
The Mentorship is also good we get 3rd year mentors for 2 years and they guide us till the end of 2nd year

Dislikes

There is No Branch change option from 2025

Admission:

I had Applied to Vit pune and I am getting Ai and DS there but my dream was to get an NIT so I dropped my decision and can to VNIT. I did not get any rejection from there I just rejected that college over NIT. The addmission process to get in at VNIT Nagpur is very simple you just have to go through JEE mains Exam and have to secuse atleast 96 percentile if you are an general candidate. And then you have to participate in joosa/CSAB councelling.

Mainly i liked all the of the clg bcs they use to manage by the students only
I also liked the club culture thier is clubs for each and every domain
This clg is more focused on academic also and almost all the students get placed

Dislikes

Proff are quite rude and arrogance but some proff are so good by there nature
DEANS doesn't approve funding for the clubs tj work
More academic focused is going to be bcz of new director

I chose this for fun and enjoyment purpose due in other clg nit surat the clg life not so good therefore I chose this clg and there are other reason for choosing this clg like want my clg away from my home

VNIT-the guide

Likes

The campus life is very good and the diverse people you meet from different parts of the world are amazing
The lab Infrastructure and the buildings related to academics are very up to date
More priority is given to student learning and the boys to girls ration is decent

Dislikes

The hostel infrastructure could have been better
The in time for boys is early and bathrooms are not clean
Mess food is not that good in taste and the quality of food is compromised

Admission:

I applied for others colleges that accepted admission through the state entrance cell. I was getting admission there on my previous exam basis and also MHT CET exam result. I chose VNIT as it was near my home and also it was more premier institute than the colleges of MHT CET I was not rejected from the other colleges that o applied for only my rank was not sufficient to get admission in their courses. The admission process for VNIT is that they accept students on the basis of JEE MAINS examination for students that wish to pursue bTech and then there is a separate exam of architecture for students who wish to pursue BArch which is a five year integrated program offered by the college.

THE campus is vely lush green ,amazing and theres a lot to explore lot
The college clubs and activities which i heard are very well-known and Amazing
The sports complex gym,facilities multisports activities are very good

Dislikes

The college gender ratio is notthat appealing
There is a lot humidity and even though there is very greenery but the air is very less
Strict 75% attendance is what i think can be decreased

Admission:

The Vnit has very strong alumni network amazing placement facility and internship its situated in nagpur and its closest to my home town compared to other nits The addmision process is not so complicated furst get a good percentile in jee , 75 % in 12th board and then apply for counselling through which you have to go through online document verification then pay pre addmision fee and for last physical verification and hostel allotment this process takes some time but its first thing you will experiencing in college

An Honest Review

Likes

The first thing I like about the college was the lush green college campus which is very beautiful. The campus is alive 24 hours.
All the Faculties have very good way of teaching and highly qualified.
I also like the Mentorship programme of my college which is not in all colleges. In which few third year seniors were the mentors of first years to guide them.

Dislikes

First thing I don't like about the college was In time of boys in first year which is 8 pm during my time.
Second thing I don't like about my college is that the labs are not renovated currently it is still old.
Third thing I don't like about my college was the Hostel message facility which should be improvised.

Admission:

I applied for all the top National institute of technology colleges across India but I got alloted to Visvesvaraya National institute of technology Nagpur according of my Jee mains rank I choose this college over other colleges because of the balance between campus life , fests and academics my college have best among the all NITS. My college gives admission through JOSAA and CSAB rounds. In which the preferred candidates were top rankers. Cuttoff may vary different years.

My VNIT experience

Likes

Hostel rooms are spacious for first years
Single rooms are available from second year onwards which are very good for privacy
Excellent sports facility with good maintenance

Dislikes

Poor girls to boys ratio 1:4 ratio of girls is to boys
Mess Food of swaadanand mess is terrible!!!
Girls hostel is the opposite corner of the campus for boys

Admission:

The main reason I picked this college was I couldn't secure a better combination of college and branch in any other nit hence I picked mining in VNIT The exam I have to come here was jee mains in which I scored a 96.5%ile

My life at VNIT

Likes

Good infrastructure facilities : well equipped labs and classes
Good campus environment, lush green 250 acres of campus
Good hostel and gym facilities, clean mess and food also decent

Dislikes

Students will not get proper support from the lecturers
Professors centric college, the opinion of the students not considered
Fines will be imposed on students even for small issues like birthday parties

I wanted to do Mechanical engineering.I have applied to top NIT's like Trichy ,warangal,rourkel and VNIT. I finally got vnit mechanical in the 3rd round of JOSAA councilling. I haven't got into the top colleges since I didn't managed to get a good rank to get into mechanical. I was getting lower braches like metallurgy and civil in which I'm not interested. The admission in our college is through JOSAA counciling.

I choose VNIT Nagpur over other colleges as it is one of the top tier college of NITin India with a strong academic reputation, good placement record and excellent infrastructure. I was also eligible to take a seat at NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal.. etc . The admission is followed by mainly JOSAA counselling followed by Jee mains.Cutt-off for my branch was around 22k-28k for general Mechanical.

Likes

Campus is so beautiful and filled with greenery and infrastructure is so good
Girls to boys ratio is something around 3:7
Faculty is top notch, well behaved and supportive .

Dislikes

Poor managements in some events otherwise it is good
Other things are good and the place is so good near Lake .
VNIT still follows old curriculum in some departments .

Admission:

So i wanted MNNIT allahabad but the next preference was VNIT obviously. But in the jossa round I got this one . Earlier I got svnit which is also good but still comparison to VNIT it's still lack behind in infrastructure and curriculum. And for admission process you can approach VNIT website its all given there you need ready all the documents required with photocopies and when you go to college there is academic building where whole process happens . You have take you score card and allotment letter . Go there and they will tell the further process
