VNIT Nagpur offers admission to UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses in 20 departments based on national-level entrance exams. Among all programs, B.Tech and M.Tech are considered the flagship courses offered at VNIT Nagpur. Admission to the VNIT Nagpur B.Tech program is done via JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA counseling. Usually, JoSAA counseling for B.Tech & B.Arch admissions takes place in July/ August. VNIT Nagpur B.Tech course Fee (1st Year) is INR 1.35 Lakhs for most streams. The round 1 JEE Main cutoff 2025 for the B.Tech CSE program generally exceeds 6150 (HS).
Besides the B.Tech Programme, VNIT Nagpur also offers courses such as M.Tech and M.Sc. Admission to these Programmes is based on GATE and IIT JAM scores, followed by a counseling process. Candidates from outside India are selected for these Programmes through Direct Admission of Students from Abroad (DASA).
Apart from UG & PG courses, VNIT Nagpur provides P.hD. courses in the following 6 Departments of Engineering, Science, Humanities, VLSI, Interdisciplinary, and Mathematics. For the doctoral program, candidates are selected based on a written test and personal interview conducted by the institute.

VNIT Nagpur B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- For VNIT Nagpur admission in B.Tech, candidates must have at least 75% marks in 10+2 examination or be in the top 20% of the respective board, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject, are eligible to apply. SC/ST category candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
- Candidates will have to qualify for JEE Main.
- Reservation of seats is done as per the rules laid down by the Government of India.
VNIT Nagpur B.Tech. Selection Criteria
Considering the 12th exam results and the score of JEE Main, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing the All India Rank (AIR) of candidates.
To participate in the VNIT Nagpur admission process, candidates have to register for counseling online at the official JoSSA website. Colleges and course choice filling and locking is mandatory and it is to be done by the candidate only. In a decreasing order of preference, branch choices are to be filled. Based on the cut-off set by VNIT Nagpur, seats will be allocated in each round of counseling.

VNIT Nagpur B.Tech 2025: How to Apply?
VNIT BTech admissions are based on the JEE Main score. The institute conducts JoSAA counseling for B.Tech admission. The step-wise application process is given below:
Step 1: To apply for JEE Main, aspirants need to visit @jeemain.nta.ac.in
Step 2: Read the instructions and information form. JEE Main will be conducted two times (Session-1 and Session-2).
Step 3: Fill out the application form by providing the necessary details and take a printout for further reference. The fee for JEE Main 2025 registration is INR 1000 for Male candidates. The fee for female candidates is INR 800, while SC/ST/PwD category candidates need to pay INR 500.

. VNIT Nagpur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- For VNIT Nagpur admission in M.Tech, candidates who have secured at least 60% marks in B. Tech or CPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale are eligible to apply.
- Candidates should be GATE qualified.

VNIT Nagpur M.Tech 2025: How to Apply?
Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:
- Visit the official website
- Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, and mobile number.
- After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
- Fill out the application form.
- A fee of INR 1,800 INR (INR 900 for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
- Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

- Any student who has cleared their Master’s degree in the relevant subject is eligible to apply for this program.
- The candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in aggregate.
VNIT Nagpur Ph.D Selection Criteria
- The candidate will be selected based on a Written Test conducted by the Institute.
- After the written Test, the candidate will appear for the interview.
- The eligible applicants will be tested by the DRC ( Department of Research Committee ) through a written test. Based on their performance in the written test, DRC can shortlist some candidates for interview as per the number of vacancies available in the department.
VNIT Nagpur Ph.D 2025: How to Apply?
- Visit the institute website, look for the research vacancies (if any), and read the admission details carefully.
- The registration process for admission to the Ph.D. isn’t conducted online. The candidate is required to register (in person) on the scheduled dates of registration.
- The applicant is required to fill out the registration form and submit it to the DPGC convener.
- The screening committee will verify the eligibility of the candidate.
