I am a B Tech student in computer science in NIT Srinagar. NIT prepares for good future. I suggest the areas for improvement in infrustructure and in technolgy. The exam, conduct on thier right time. no problem about that
National Institute of technology Srinagar is really a very good institute for BTech degree as well as for other courses . The average package is also very decent. Coding culture is also good and there are so many other activities.

Firtstly you have to choose the course in which you are intrested in future to work .Secondly college curriculam is also very awesome suppose you choose COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING here or any branch in first semester each and every branch holder will be taught with the same subject to get the practical knowledge of engineering .Engineering is what you have practical skills and knowledge this college's curriculum will help to excel .College curriculum will enhance your critical thinking .I think such an awesome curriculum would not requires to change. The exams are two only in each semester firt is mid semester in which half syllabus will come and of 26 marks and second is end semester in which full syllabus will come of 50 marks and 26 marks are for internal assessment (attendance 75%, projects ,assignments ,class interaction ).

I have been chosen computer science because of the future aspect and placement data. But, i'll suggest you to take on your own intrest beacuse CSE/IT branch is also suffered lack of placements this time. There should be improvement in teaching method and coding environment in college ,project discussion etc There are two types of exam in each semester mid term and end term all marks are calculated in final result. Every semester you will get a result with respective sgpa. Exam level is easy whatever the teachers taught in the class. I will suggest you to maintain atleast 7.5 cgpa

Overall the course curriculum is updated according to the NEP (National Education Scheme)scheme . It's just that in the first year we have to study lots of annoying subjects like engineering drawing which is quite annoying.

I am intrested about computer science and engineering from its beginning. So, I have chosenn the field to read and create a career in that field. The curriculum is designed to tackle the real world problems and situations. I can easily secure a nice job in that field. The teachers are really encouraging and help us to apply the concepts to real world problems

Specific aspects of the curriculum that has influenced my decision to choose this course and college is that in today's digital world everything thing is done digitally so I prefer to choose this course to live in this digital era... Curriculum for real world applications and further academic pursuits is well being... Some improvement are needed in labs ...there should be little high advanced teyin labs...
If you are considering NIT Srinagar for CSE, here are a few things you should know-
Here are a few points about NIT Srinagar in general-
You won’t be offered a typical college experience at NIT Srinagar. But this place will teach you a lot. Academically, you’ll be on your own. But for a stress-free campus life, you can consider this college.
Considering this question, the first criteria are always the student’s preferences. According to that, they should choose the colleges, either NIT Srinagar or HBTI Kanpur.
NIT Srinagar is a reputed institute; additionally, HBTU is also an ancient and esteemed institute. The new Vice-Chancellor of the second one is completely dedicated to institutional development, and the institute is developing radically over the past few years.
Besides, if you consider the placement facts, then CSE is just edged that ECE regarding the CTC. But, ECE also has several opportunities in both Government and private sectors. It is also quite close considering the placements facts to CSE because IT companies also allow ECE students to sit in the recruitment process.
In the following, a brief overview has been given considering the placement facts of these two institutes.
Criteria |
NIT Srinagar |
HBTU |
Highest CTC |
30 LPA |
37 LPA |
Lowest CTC |
5 LPA |
7.18 LPA |
Average CTC |
6-8 LPA |
10 LPA |
Placement Statistics |

Another important thing that you may consider is that location is which institute is nearer to your home.
So, it can be concluded that both of these institutes are equally good. One of my friends was a former student of HBTU, so he was quite partial to his institute, as he studied there, so he knew better.
From the year 2018, to get admission to HBTU, the student has to qualify 12th standard board exam from UP, or their parents must belong to the UP domicile.
