- The culture of the college. Seniors are very supportive and helpful.
- There are many cultural clubs and technical societies in the college and apart from academics, extra curricular activities are give an equal importance.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college needs a huge improvement. It is very old and definitely needs an upgrade.
- The auditorium of the college is very small and there is definitely a need for a new and big auditorium.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum’s comprehensive coverage of both theoretical and practical aspects of VLSI design influenced my decision to choose this course. It includes fundamentals like MOSFET theory and digital design, advanced topics such as analog and digital IC design. The curriculum effectively prepares students for industry and academia. Case studies and guest lectures from industry experts provide insights into current VLSI trends.

- Strong Alumni network: This college is one of the oldest engineering college because of that it has the strongest Alumni network which really helps in funds and placements of students.
- Scope of doing anything you want: In this college if you have the will the do something great whether it is in the research field or sports, this college have the potential to make you great.
Dislikes
- Maintenance: Very poor hostels, no maintenance of hostels are there.
- Poor food quality: When you are in 1st sem till date they serve you very good and tasty food, timely they decrease there food quality time by time.
Course Curriculum Overview:
When you talk about what are the things that influenced me to take this course is "my rank" of JEE . At my rank in this college max i can get is this course and the quality of college and placements stats are the most imp thing that impact me. Curriculum is well defined proper labs are there for experiments, whatever is teaching in class. Because of relative grading its not very tough to score here if you study 1 week before midsem and 2 week before endsem exams then you score good enough for every company cuttoff.

- Liked the lush green campus and the beautiful gardens and sporting facilities.
- The supportive seniors and mentors for mental health in campus which has made it ragging free.
Dislikes
- The place as a whole is very expensive and therefore accommodation outside can be difficult.
- The other small things like some faculties and a not very rich social circle because almost 50% students are from Chandigarh quota.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum has improved from our 23 batch the inclusion of things like communication and environmental studies for climate change has incorporated social and professional responsibilities on us. The exam occurs often and weekly is the best bet after 2 months of preparation. The end semester exams have higher weightage though it is not true in every subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is also as same as other nits and iits, there are both subject courses and communication course to improve human value and ethics. There are mid sems and end sems, 1:30 hr and 3hr respectively. And many quizes and viva in between of both lab and theory classes.

- Thinks I liked about my college is placements the placement scenario is very good in my college. There are training and placement cell which is known as cdgc especially for the College placements.
- The faculty here is very good. You will get experienced faculty for each and every subject having a very deep learning of all the concepts
Dislikes
- Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is Shivalik hostel is worst
- Mess food is also bad. The fees for the mess food is too high. You have to pay 3600 monthly for the mess food
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum for the first year is not good according to me you need to study engineering drawing and other subjects that are not relevant in today's scenario.In our college core is given more emphasis than the overall skill of a student. You will get relevant time between the exam so don't worry about that

- Well connected to city of Chandigarh, not in some outskirts, has a beautiful infrastructure and gardens with variety of flowers, it has good sports facilities like volleyball, tennis, badminton, Gymkhana. We also get our own dispensary for medicines.
- Regarding placements PEC received a remarkable placement offers due to a good Alumini base it has even when the job markets were down, there are various clubs in college which would shape your personality and I would highly recommend this college.
Dislikes
- Chandigarh as a city is very expensive and disciplined so almost no fast food shops are there on roadside. The teachers majority of them are not interested whether you attend class or not few teachers are exceptions. Many festivals are not celebrated
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is updated and is quite in sync with recent trends like entrepreneurship, startups, finance, and AI(Artificial Intelligence). The core subjects are old schools to date but so as in any government college. The percentage I would like to assign for how much knowledge is applicable to the real world from the course curriculum is about 30%-40%. The exams are quite frequently held in the form of quizzes of each chapter completed and have a weightage in our cgpa. The difficulty of the exams is medium level you can easily pull an all-nighter and finish the entire curriculum for some subjects.

- Placements in PEC are very good even in low placement season going on throughout the country the college is doing good
- 103 yrs old college,making it one of the oldest and having a very strong alumni network which helps in Connection making in almost all departments
Dislikes
- Being 103yrs old the campus needs maintenance which is a issue
- Curfew timings are there and no night canteen
Course Curriculum Overview:
The Course Production and Industrial Engineering is one of the best and industry ready amongst all as it provides financial knowledge as well as Management knowledge and production knowledge too. Exams are conducted 2 times in a semester.

- I liked the environment of the college. People are really friendly
- Placement are good. Median package is around 17 lakh
Dislikes
- Staff is not so good. They take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear
- Hostel conditions are not at all good especially for boys

Course curriculum I think is really bad. I mean what is the purpose of dedicating full semester of CSE to non circuital subjects and courses(which will not be useful in our future). The course is focussed more towards theoretical knowledge and not towards practical knowledge

- Faculty culture is bad and they are not motivated to teach and inspire students, the only way students can learn is through self learning. Though there are great professors, they are out numbered by the basically useless professors.
- The administration is totally useless and they are only interested in troubling students and delaying work as much as possible.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum is great and subjects that a college is allowed to teach is amaizng. The curriculum of Production and Industrial Engineering is by far the most advanced and in terms with the manufacturing industry requirement. The real world application of it can be taken into account. The projects included in the course are also kind of cool The exams are by far the most useless things becasue there is no effort from the faculty to make good questions, same old questions repeating over the years. The evaluation is based on how well connected you are with the teacher for boys and if you are a girl then you hit the jackpot as you will be given a full grade no matter how bad you are in terms of academics.

- Gender ratio is not good and many students were dissatisfied with it .
- Administration is slow and does not listen to students .

Course Cirriculum is mediocre . Since mostly students are intersted in CSE subjects . PEC provide may oppurtunies from different branches students to opt cse subjects . Class attendence is usually depends from teacher to teacher but mostly there is no attendence issue.

Which is best: CSE IN THAPAR UNIVERSITY, ECE IN PEC, OR CSE IN NIT JALANDHAR?
Plenty of coders on top competitive coding platforms are students of NIT Jalandhar. This points towards a good coding culture at NITJ. Moreover, the fee at NITs is much less than PEC or Thapar University.
Though the placement at PEC is good overall, it receives less offers from the core ECE companies. Thapar has its own list of top companies that prioritize it over other colleges. But I do not know much about their CSE department.
Thus, I would recommend NIT Jalandhar CSE over the other two options. But if you want to choose between PEC ECE and Thapar CSE, I would recommend you make the selection based on your subject interest.
