Review for PEC

  • The infrastructure of the college needs a huge improvement. It is very old and definitely needs an upgrade.
  • The auditorium of the college is very small and there is definitely a need for a new and big auditorium.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum’s comprehensive coverage of both theoretical and practical aspects of VLSI design influenced my decision to choose this course. It includes fundamentals like MOSFET theory and digital design, advanced topics such as analog and digital IC design. The curriculum effectively prepares students for industry and academia. Case studies and guest lectures from industry experts provide insights into current VLSI trends.

Internships Opportunities :

One of the best things about this college is that internship opportunities are available in the college after completion of second year. Companies like Goldman Sachs and other good companies visit the college to hire interns.

Placement Experience :

College provides internship opportunities after 2nd year and placements usually start after 3rd year. In the year 2022-2023, a total of 518 offers were made with highest package of 83 lpa, average package of 15.97 lpa and a median package of 12 lpa.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees is around 94000 per semester. Scholarships are available for pwd students, economically weaker section, below poverty line, and branch toppers. The complete cost of 4 years would come around to be 8 lakhs rupees.

Campus Life :

There are many cultural clubs and technical societies in the college and it is mandatory for a student to be in at least one of these. Throughout the year various events are organised by these clubs and societies.

Admission :

To be eligible for admission you must qualify for JEE mains. Then depending on the rank, you get the respective branch. The admission process is done through JOSAA counseling. The institution also has reserved seats for four special categories, applications for which are available on the institute website. After you get a seat document verification is done in the college thereby confirming your admission. Exams are conducted two times in a semester, the mid-semester exams and the end-semester exams. Apart from these quizzes are conducted from time to time.

Faculty :

The faculty-to-student ratio is about one to sixty. There are many experienced teachers and they are good at teaching their stuff. Some might not meet the expectations but otherwise, the faculty is good. If you have doubts in the subject you can definitely ask the teacher otherwise for general doubts or rescheduling of class, interaction is done via the class CR.

Other Applied Colleges

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - [Thapar University] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Engineering)

Found PEC better than it plus PEC is a government college.

Placement Experience:

College placements are average. Many companies visit campus for providing placements offers and internship. Due to more students all can not get placement offers. But if student is good in study he/she can get placement offers easily.

There are many companies coming for campus placements, including big-tech companies like Microsoft and Google. But, remember that Google only comes to hire call centre guys, not Software Engineers, which is what people end up assuming.
