Good:Great location, perhaps the best. I mean when you open your window in winter, have a look on snowy mountains. A nala/creek flows through campus. Springs will be there in Monsoon. You literally live in the clouds. No dearth of funds. Liberal and flexi

Entrance Preview :

IIT JEE 220/480 It has the best location in all IITs. The hill stations like Kullu-Manali, Shimla are close. I wanted to travel India. It seemed like a good place to start. It also has a beautiful campus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

IIT Mandi is a new IIT. I've been to other IITs like IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati. In terms of curriculum it has the most flexible curriculum. You can choose courses from other branches and humanities too. In 3rd year and final year , the majority of the courses are elective. So you can decide courses according to your interest.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, you have to contact personally with professors. The professors are helpful, and liberal. The stipend may vary according to your work done. The companies for placement and internship are same. They pick for both positions. like Amazon, Microsoft etc

Placement Experience :

In 2015, Amazon visited campus who picked 10 students (5 PO + 5 PPO) @27 lpa domestic offer. Others were Microsoft, cognizant, TCS, tata motors, Eclerx etc. The off-campus placement highest was around 1.7 crore in google. Placement occurs in 7th sem, almost all the students were placed.

College Events :

Exodia is the annual tech-cult Fest. It happens in April. Rann-neeti is Inter-college sports Fest. Exuberance is intra-college cult fest. There are number of sports, cult and tech Fests which vary according to years/houses.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee should be around 75k/sem, including hostel fees. If you are average, or >average, you can get back most of this, in form of scholarship. Hostels are excellent (Best i've seen yet). Mess food is pathetic, so canteen is always an option.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you are average or >average, you can get back most of fees in form of scholarship. At the time of admission, PNB and SBI bank representatives will be there to offer loans and other schemes to new students. So getting loan is easy.

Campus Life :

Gender ration is poor. Approx(1:9 or 1:8). IITs are most diverse colleges in India. so you can always experience cultural differences. Extracurricular activities are above average. It's a new IIT. And it's the first one to shift in its permanent campus. So things are building There is no dearth of funds for clubs, programs and competitions.

Alumni/Alumna :

Only three batches have passed out in 2015. So it's still in novice stage. But it's a small IIT, where everybody knows everybody. So people are generally helpful.

Faculty :

Faculty quality cannot be generalized as all types of teachers are there. There are a good number of professors who are retired and ready to build a new institute.

Placement Experience:

after 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements Compamies like TechMahindra, wipro,Hcl and many more visited here.The avergae package given by companies are 6-7 lakhs. highest package of our campus is of 60lakhs something. In chitkara rajpura campus highest package is 1.2 cr More than 90% of students get placed. but the condtion is that students do not have any suply and the student have maintained the attendance minimum75% in every subject My plans are too get placed in Company with good package

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is quite good . It is very relevant like we have course on thermodynamics, rigid body mechanics which is useful in mechanical engineering and there are also robotics course for all branches so that every one can know the basics of robotics . There are coding courses for everyone so that everyone can know tech field Also there are extra curricular courses which are very relevant to our daily life like Language speaking courses like french , German , english . Also our college has started have semester exchange facility available to foreign colleges.

The students can start getting placement offers from the 6th semester itself in the form of PPOs(Pre Placement Offers), A lot of high value companies give placements and the placement drive starts early in the 7th semester itself. The percentage of students placed generally is upwards of the 75% mark. The students can get placed in any sort of company as per their pedigree. Some PSUs also offer few positions directly. The institute also has MOUs with some other Institutes that offer Masters and Post Graduation programmes directly.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenerio is same as the other nit colleges like highest package goes about 1cr and lowest will be 6lpa and median is. About 9lpa and overall an average placement of 13lpa . Percentage of students getting placed is 85 percent but Barch and engineering physics has lower placement in this college. Many of the student went for higher studies .my plan is to get placed after the completion of degree.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th and 8th semesters are eligible for on-campus placements. Many companies like Amazon, HCL, Flipcart, Samsung, Paytm ORACLE, Infosys visit the campus every year highest placement for the year 2020 in the case was 42 lacs, and the average ranging about 10.5 lacs. Placement is almost 100 % for CSE and IT department. Around 20 recruiters including Analytics Quotient, Ebizon, GreyB analytics, IBM, Infotech, Reliance Jio, KPIT visited the campus among others. There was a hike of 72.5% in the average CTC offered in 2020 as compared to 2019. Many companies visit the college for the campus placements and the package at my time ranged between 2.5 LPA-4.2 LPA. As a fresher the package is good.
