Remarks :

To get Admission to a PhD course at any of the IITs, You will need to Get 65%+ marks in your Graduate as well as your Masters's Degree in your Specific Discipline. You can apply two times a year for a PhD. firstly a Written exam is conducted by the institute that is followed by an Interview as well as Presentation. Then a Merit List is Prepared. You Should also have a good Score in GATE (Not mandatory) but it will really help. I didn't avail any Reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The PhD course everywhere is for 5 years where you will have to research on your specified field of Study and have to submit a thesis to your professor. The Students are very few as this is a Research course. The teachers and Professors at IIT are Unbeatable, Great Mathematicians and Researchers teach us.

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 16750 per year

Placement Experience :

I completed My bachelor's as well as masters from the same college, I remember I got a package of 24 LPA when I sat for campus placement after BTech but I continued to do master's instead of getting a job two years later when I completed my MTech, WIPRO offered my 50 LPA as a Junior Executive in Bangalore branch, but I still discarded that and decided to do PhD in the same subject, this is my last year and I am hoping it will be completed by this year, then I will apply to be a lecturer at any IIT then only my childhood dream of being a teacher will come true.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you belong to General Category, the fees are fixed to Rupees 16750 and 14500 for SC as well as SC candidate. I don't think even at these low fees, someone tries to go for financial assistance on their own as most of the students are their self doing the job and earning well. But Government do provide us with Scholarships that are even much more than our fees.

Campus Life :

The Campus Life at The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is very exciting and teaches a whole new way to live life. Every year new students come with a lot of Aspirations and dreams to Open Big Startups or to get jobs in their dream companies. The library at IITKNP is huge and contains every book that one can need there, you can issue 5 at a time. Extracurricular activities are the backbone of One's Personality, Which are highly Practised there.

Remarks:

Best thing is that we do get all the information through institute email, college management is very helpful they don't force you in unnecessary paperwork or permission stuff. The only thing that i lack in the institute is that unavailability of single room in the hostel.

If I have to rate my college then I will give 9 out of 10. I deducted one star because of issie i.e hostel single seat to students. Otherwise college provide everything to students at their places. I love my college.

Remarks:

Campus is very good, greenery everywhere. Location of institute is near ganga river, just 1 km away from campus. there is health centre facility and BHU hospital. I have one regret, i.e hostel and mess facility. Institute management should pay more attention on infrastructure and better facility as per IITs standard.

Entrance Preview:

GATE, 96 percentile, this college provides perfect environment for research students. Faculty of the Civil Engineering department is compatible in all new research.

Placement Experience:

After completion of the PhD almost every student got the job opportunities. Mainly most of students are got job in the different Universities and Colleges. Here minimum package for the PhD students starts from 10 to 12 lakh per year. Some of the student also prefer to go in the research areas.
