Best College for technology

Remarks :

College is one of the best in the country. But a lot of pressure when it comes to academics. But students with a passion for their subject have a lot of opportunity in this college. The best part of this college is the attention from the outside world.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course curriculum is one of the best in the country and the world. Gives a lot of freedom in the choice of subjects we get to take and provides a good opportunity to try all engineering fields to make our choice

Placement Experience :

Placements are very good here and even internships with PPO are common. The average package of 16-20lpa CTC is common for electrical engineers. Core Jobs are plenty but we also have good opportunities outside our field of studies like finance and consulting.

College Events :

Moore is one of the biggest college festivals in Asia which sees nearly 1.5l students visiting to participate in various events. Techfest is the biggest technology event in IIT Bombay. And many small but well-funded events happen all year long.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's very feasible as it is a government college. And a stipend is also provided to the master's students and Ph.D. students. This relieves the pressure for studying. Accommodation and food costs are also very low thus living expenses are low.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

We have a club to which the alumni have donated a part of their salary every year. This funding is used to help the students who require loans for their studies which is paid back when they earn in their job after placements.

Campus Life :

State of the art gym, sports, and lab facilities. Olympic size pool. Cemented outdoor tennis courts. Indoor cricket practice nets. World-class badminton courts and courts in each hostel. The best equipment in all the labs.

Hostel Facilities :

Very good buildings have been built in recent years. Old hostels do need renovation but still provide better accommodation than most other colleges. My hostel is right next to Powai lake and provides the best view ever

Alumni/Alumna :

Very good alumni network with alumni at highest posts in many leading organizations. SARC is a club that provides the interactions between the alumni and the current students and provides very good mentorship programs

Admission :

Gate Score is Most important. And selection through interviews for a few courses. Gate score of 900+ gives a sure opportunity for electrical engineering. There are two divisions:- R.A and T.A. RA involves interview-based selection only.

Faculty :

Best faculty in the world with many research contributions. Many full-time and even Nobel prize winners as visiting professors from the best colleges like MIT and Harvard. Faculty provides full support and encourage students to follow their passion

Placement Experience:

On-campus placements are available at this college, but only mass recruitment companies come here, offering salaries between 1.6 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and IBM visit every year. However, the TNP officers are not good at their jobs. Some students who are TNP coordinators receive special opportunities in placements. The IT department has more placements than the CS department, with almost 50% of students getting placed. On the other hand, in the CS department, only 30% of students get placed, and other departments do not have good placement opportunities. The average package is nearly 3 LPA, and the highest package is 7 LPA, offered by TCS. The placement information published on the college website and in the brochure is completely wrong and misleading. Some off-campus placement statistics are included in it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I have taken is electronics and telecommunication which is considered to be the toughest course . I took this course as I wanted a balance between my coding journey and also due to my love in electronics . Although the course is easier to understand, there are few courses which are outdated and can be updated with the current situations and scenario. Sometimes I feel that the time given to study for exams is less but again it's on the student and how he / she pays attention.
