CSE at SIT Nagpur

  • The campus is new and students need to work hard for internships and placements for the time being. If you're hardworking, things will be easier.

Course Curriculum Overview :

All the students are given electives to choose and we also have the compulsory courses too, common for all. The electives could be chosen based on varied interests of students and are very engaging. The compulsory courses are chosen and kept very wisely and are essential for computer science and engineering students. The courses and evaluation plans are very well created and curated for students to be able to solve real world problems too later in professional and personal lives. There aren't much suggestions and areas to improve as of now. Exams and tests are conducted almost every two weeks. This keeps the students keen on learning and practicing all the while and doesn't let them slag in between the semester. The exams are monitored from the headquarters at Pune, and hence all is kept under check and maintained.

Internships Opportunities :

The internships are provided by college but you need to be worthy and hardworking enough. All the students need to have a working linkedin account. We have national and private internships coming to us. The college also focuses on skills needed to land internships and placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fee may increase annually withing 10 percent range only. Tuition fee is 12,00,000 rupees for four years. If the fee is increased, it can go upto 15,00,000 rupees only. Hostel fees including the mess charges are 2,70,000 for one year. There are no other additional charges or fees of any kind. There are financial aids for economically weaker sections and single girl child of parents too. There are no on campus jobs available for the students.

Campus Life :

The college has various clubs - technical, arts, social, literary, branding, cultural, etc. - functional all through the year. We have our annual festival "Enthusia" each year in March. It is a two day festival - Day one is technical and Day Two is cultural. The library is very vast and has a great selection of books and journals. It is functional for 9 to 5 for issuing of books but open from 8 am to after midnight to sit , read and study there. The college also has a very dynamic entrepreneurship cell, with a few startups already incubating.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel provided on campus has all the facilities. We have attached washrooms and showers in each room. A working AC and all other amenities in each room. All the floors have 2 pantries equipped with induction stoves, fidges and microwave ovens. The campus has gym and sports sector functional. The mess is student centric. The students decide the mess menu. Hostel can be availed at the time of admission and fee payment.

Admission :

JEE Main, MHTCET and SITEEE are entrances you can take for admissions. JEE Main cutoff goes upto 76 percentile, for MHTCET it is around 70 and SITEEE cutoff is nearly same too. 12th pass students can give any or all these to get a Chance to study here.

Faculty :

The faculty is approachable at all times. This is one of the best things about the college. There are about 55 to 65 students only in each class and we have dedicated faculty members for all the courses. Students can approach faculty at all times. In the office hours and outside too for ones staying in campus. A lot of our faculty members stay in campus too. The faculty is chosen wisely and the students are provided the best subject experts. The approach to teaching is student friendly and monitored by higher authorities at all times. The professors are great mentors too. All this problems related to courses, hostels and other things could be talked directly to them. Provides a safe, interactive and sound environment to all students.

Placement Experience:

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

Remarks:

The college Bajaj Institute of Technology, Wardha is very reputed college as it is Shiksha Mandal's college. I saw many advertisement about this college throughout the year and that's why choose to take admission in it.

Placement Experience:

Till now no company has visited. 2 students are selected and that is with their own efforts. Not having any job referral because hardly few students are placed. In startup one group won the hackathon and I guess they are doing their startup thing
