How to calculate Marks using GATE CY Answer Key?
The total marks equal the count of marks gained in the correct answers and deduct the marks lost in incorrect markings. The marking scheme of GATE CY Paper is provided below:
- MCQs carrying 1 marks each, 1/3 marks would be deducted as a penalty of marking the wrong answer.
- For questions carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks would be deducted for marking an incorrect answer.
- The NAT questions don’t have the provision of negative marking.
NAT Marks = Total marks (1 mark each question) + Total marks (2 marks each question)
Total Marks obtained for MCQs = [{+1(for each correct answer carrying 1 mark) – 1/3 (for each incorrect answer carrying 1 mark)} + {2 (for each correct answer carrying 2 marks) – 2/3 (for each incorrect answer carrying 2 marks)}]
GATE score = Marks obtained for MCQs + Marks obtained for NAT questions

GATE 2024 Chemistry (CY) Cutoff
GATE Cutoff score is the minimum score that candidates need to secure in order to qualify the entrance test. Please note that GATE 2024 Cutoff will be separate for qualifying the exam and for admissions. The admissions cut-off will vary for each participating institute as it is dependent on the number of seats available at a particular institute as well as the number of applicants therein.
