As UIET is in Panjab University campus life is very good.
Campus size and vibes-Good market under campus attractive campus and crowd

Dislikes

Hinglish medium of teaching i not liked but after some time i like it.
The course curriculum can be demanding and require a lot of hard work from students.

I like the mordernized culture of UIET. See UIET Chandigarh is not a any separate college, It is an Engineering department of very prestigious Panjab University. So the PU culture is very modern. It will helps you a lot in your overall development.
So we all know that Panjab University Chandigarh is One of the best universities in India and globally also. so it is very helpful for students. If you want to pursue masters in foreign countries like USA ,Canda,Australia,UK

Dislikes

In UIET not everyone can get a hostel. Only Few Students Can get it. You can get a hostel by a merit list.
In UIET department ,There is only Two Academic Blocks. So it's not big as Like NITs,IITs. But the Panjab University is very well build.

Placement Experience:

The Placements of my college are too good as compared to many other state government or NITs.from beginning of 7th semester students become eligibele for placements. so many Companies are visited here like for CSE American Express, Amazon, Zscaler, Cognizant, Deloitte, accenture etc.For ECE BEL,DRDO, Philips etc.For mechanical, Land T, Volvo eicher, Dalkia, Grail etc.

Life at UIET (PU)

Likes

Huge and beautiful university campus with very much greenery
Numerous fests in which university invites many celebrities like pranjal dahiya, mankirt aulakh, ndee kundu and several other singers

Dislikes

Less average package than expected for lower branches
Food quality in hostels is little poor and many controversies also keep on going regarding mess cleanliness

Placement Experience:

4th year students are eligible for placements Many companies like infosys and mahindra come for recruitments and they offer good package to students Highest package grabbed last year was of 2 students from ECE branch in which they got 48 lpa package Almost 50 percent students from EEE branch get placed through college placements

Freshers Guide to UIET

Likes

It's a govt college inside the Panjab University campus itself. Thus, you get to enjoy the campus of entire Panjab University and facilities like 24 hour library of PU adds to it. A vibrant,lush green campus.
A good NIRF ranking and tier 1 college with good placements for some branches and is improving for others too.

Dislikes

The hygiene facilities need to be improved asap.
Teachers are good with the knowledge but sometimes very very strict on things like marking the exams.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really nice. Companies visit in the 7th semester majorly, some might come in 8th sem also. But only intern companies come in 6th sem. Some companies - American Express, Oshneering, Priority, KPMG,ProcDNA,ZS Associates,Mahindra and Mahindra,BEL, Finxera ,etc I am gonna go for placements only

All the professors were skilled and had a great experience in research work , they had a deep and intensive knowledge of their subject .
The lab facilities available were top notch

Dislikes

Limited seats in hostel . Only meritorious students have the access to it .
Skills like machine learning and deep learning are being promoted but fields like Full Stack development , DevOps are being downsized .

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements , Here 's the list of company visited the college : Policy Bazaar . com Kickdrum ZS associates HashedIn Alert Incedo Inc ProcDNA Highest package offered = 40,00, 000 CTC (Offcampus ) and 16 LPA CTC (ON CAMPUS ) Average package = 8 LPA CTC From CSE branch 95 percent of students got placed I am also campus placed and will be joining the company after degree completion

Design Innovation Centre of UIET is the thing I liked the most a lot of projects take place there .
Campus life is Quite good With diverse people from different states , languages and culture

Dislikes

In some branches there are faculty who are not permanent but guest faculty takes lecture .
There are no on campus placements opportunity for students .

Placement Experience:

In 7 semester students are eligible for placements. About 50+ companies visit campus every year and 250+ offers were made to students. The highest package this year has been 42 LPA average 9.1 LPA . Profiles offered are Software Development Engineer, Data Analyst etc. The percentage of students placed is about 47.5%. To secure placement in a core ECE Company is my plan after my degree

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum here is very impressive . As i wanna do engineering so i chose the course according to my preference.The curriculum is somewhat relavent to the real world applications.The curriculum should focus more on real world problem solving techniques,rather than teaching old stuff. The timing of exams are good.

Opportunities are available in multiple fields
Senior junior intraction is good, Coding culture is also nice

Dislikes

Syllabus is too vast to handel, especially for core branches
Students have high pressure of studies due to absolute grading.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is quiet old and must need to be change. They are teaching the old concepts which not that much use full in todays world. The teacher can modify it my introducing new concepts. For mid sem exam, it is very hectic due to having two exams in a single day.

Likes

Teaching faculty is good.The teachers here are experienced and have a lot of knowledge regarding their respective subjects and are helpful and keen to teach
The attendance criteria is not hectic teachers are chill about attendance and students are generally allowed to sit in the exams with over 50% attendance

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not that good the buildings are old and even the classrooms dont have ACs and the benches are also kinda old
Campus life is also not great here as its the south campus of PU there is not much to explore and UIET's campus is even smaller

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is relevant to much extent but some unnecessary subjects are also there and some important subjects like programming are only available for the CS and IT students.Also the schedule of exams sometimes become too hectic as during Mid sems there are 2 exams on same day in morning and evening shifts.

It's inside Panjab University campus so we get to explore University life and election and fest season are enjoyable
Is located at center of Chandigarh and market is easily accessible plus transportation is easy

Dislikes

Cleanliness and maintenance of water cooler ,tanks washroom is poor
Lab equipments are old and outdated and we need to perform most experiment on simulator

Electronics and communication engineering especially iot was field of interest for me , syllabus is bit theoretical and practical part is less as it's be and not btech , outdated syllabus for some of the subjects are topics are not easily available on internet.we have two minors at a gap of 45-50 days followed by endsem and practical
