  • The hygiene facilities need to be improved asap.
  • Teachers are good with the knowledge but sometimes very very strict on things like marking the exams.

Course Curriculum Overview :

First year syllabus is almost same for all the branches but after that they give you intro to your specific branch which made me interested in ECE thus i moved further with it else you can also change brranch by giving PUMEET exam. Curriculum of ECE is really nice , the subjects are relevant to the ones asked in the core electronics companies and highly practical. For labs i can say the equipments are limited so we have to perform i groups mostly but that is not a very major drawback. We have Two Minor exams and one Major(finals) exams each semester. Best of two minor is considered out of 30 marks, 20 is internal and majors are for 50 marks, Practical exams are of 50 marks.Difficulty level depends on the subject completely.

Placement Experience :

Placements are really nice. Companies visit in the 7th semester majorly, some might come in 8th sem also. But only intern companies come in 6th sem. Some companies - American Express, Oshneering, Priority, KPMG,ProcDNA,ZS Associates,Mahindra and Mahindra,BEL, Finxera ,etc I am gonna go for placements only

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tution fees is about 1 Lakh per year and Rs5500 is activity fee to be deposited in first year. We also have to submit examination fee every semester which is about Rs2800. The hostel fee is excluded from this above mentioned fees. many scholarships are available for students from EWS categories. Campus employments are not there but you can intern in research labs in the college to earn stipend and also work as a freelance remotely to earn.

Campus Life :

The campus life is amazing due to PU campus access. There are numerous fests caus you r allowed in fests of every department of PU which is about 20-25. UIET has its own fest -GOONJ in march. It has events like LEGACY, UIETMUN, IZAAD,UDYAMI, Etc also There are 20+ clubs in UIET like Brand Promotion Committee, Training and PLacement Cell, Student Team for Alumni Relations, Debating Society, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Literary and Art Club, Comic Tribe,Sports Committee, Music Club, Bhangra Crew, Western dance Crew, Mitra, Robotics Club, Society for Automative engineers, Socity of Biotech Engineers, IEEE, etc. All are run by students only. Library is nice , we have access to library of department as well as PU library(AC JOshi) which is open 24*7. College also has Startup support culture.

Admission :

To be eligilble you need to have a decent 12th percentage and good percentile in JEE mains. The admissions are through JAC chandigarh form and cut-offs are released for every round. Application fee and rest things can be checked from JAC Chandigarh site.

Faculty :

There are six branches with 120 students each which is further divided in two sections so that the ratio can be maintained upto 1:60 which is healthy as many people are in classes just for attendance so teachers can easily communicate to those who really wanna study. The faculty is highly qualified especially for the core branches like they have achieved so many things and specialized a lot. They are easily available if you want to start some new project or something like that. We also have labs like DIC where u can work on ongoing projects. We can easily approach our teachers.

MBA students have 2 internships, one being chemical core internship, which is done after 3 year for 2 months which is not shifted to last semester of 4th year for 6 months. Apart from this, there is a 2 month internship for MBA part. Earlier it was 2 months but now it is, also 6 months in the last semester. MBA students gets their internships done, both paid and unpaid included. But for placements, that story is not so good.

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university

Here the average package is 8lpa. Students start to get placements in their 5th semester. Microsoft, accenture, infosis, ibm etc are the companies which often visits for placement. University also guides the student for higher studies such as MBA and mtech etc. It provides guidance through dcpd, a department of career planning in our college

Some students can get start getting internships offers from 5th semester and most of the students can get starts getting offers since the end og 6th semester. There almost more than 910+ companies that visit the campus with various offers which can be from new Startups to MNCs. Highest package offered was around 2 crore pa and the least being 5 lpa and average being 10-12 lpa. 70-80% students can get placed from the TPP(training and placement program) provided by the college by the end of 8th semester. I plan to get a job as a java developer at first proceed towards a carrier in cybersecurity.

For campus placement students can involve in 7th semester also many students got their PPOs in 6th semester as well. There are many reputed companies visited in PEC like Apple, Microsoft,Adobe,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Amazon etc.Highest package this year was around 58LPA on-campus while average of all branch turns into around 14.33LPA.Overall more than 50 percent students got placed in all batch while around 80 percent placed in CSE due to recession. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or during my 4th year.

The placements in our college are quite good for my branch ( CSE ) but the mechanical and civil placement rate is very low only a few students sit for placement and are placed. Approx 80% of students placed in CSE, 70% in ECE, and 40% and 20% in mechanical and civil respectively. My plan is to go for a master's whether in india or abroad along with a part-time job.
