Dislikes

  • In UIET not everyone can get a hostel. Only Few Students Can get it. You can get a hostel by a merit list.
  • In UIET department ,There is only Two Academic Blocks. So it's not big as Like NITs,IITs. But the Panjab University is very well build.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The CSE and IT branch of UIET Chandigarh is so good as compared to other colleges. The Placement is too good in these branches. Let's talk about Course Curriculum, well, the curriculum is like a typical Engineering college. There are 8 semesters. There are 2 minor exams and one major/University/end-sem exam. The exam duration of the Minor exam is 90 minutes and for the major exam it is 3 hours. So many seminars happen here.

Internships Opportunities :

So many internship opportunities here. you can get paid internships. you are eligible for an internship after the 4th sem. you can get a paid internship also. you can get an average stipend of around 15-30 thousand.

Placement Experience :

The Placements of my college are too good as compared to many other state government or NITs.from beginning of 7th semester students become eligibele for placements. so many Companies are visited here like for CSE American Express, Amazon, Zscaler, Cognizant, Deloitte, accenture etc.For ECE BEL,DRDO, Philips etc.For mechanical, Land T, Volvo eicher, Dalkia, Grail etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure of this course is nearly 1 lakh 15 thousand. The complete cost of my college journey is around 6-7 lakh. There are so many scholarship opportunities here. You can check on the official websites of Panjab University and UIET also.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very Amazing, especially in sector 14 which is the main campus or north campus of Panjab University. There is a place called the Student Center(STUc). it is one of the best places in PU. There is an AC joshi library in PU which is very big in size. All the classrooms are well built. all the rooms have ACs. sports culture of UIET and PU is very impressive.

Hostel Facilities :

Not everyone can a hostel here. you can get a hostel through the merit list. There are 8 boys Hostel and 11 Girls hostel. BH 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7 are in the north campus and 8 is in the south campus. mess food is very good. all the hostels are very well built. hostel cost is very low. it is only 10 thousand exculed monthly mess and canteen fees. so many PGs are here. in sector 15 you can get a PG in 5-6 thousand.

Admission :

The admission process is very easy. You can get this college via JAC Chandigarh Counseling. Go and check the website of JAC Chandigarh Counseling Website. So many Reservation Benefits are here like SC/ST/OBC and many others like rural areas, one girl child, Defence quota, Sports Quota, etc.

Faculty :

Professors of UIET are very Experienced. The Faculty to Student ratio 1 is to 25. it does not affect your learning experience as much. The professors are very much humble. But they support you always. You can interact with them whenever you want. They will always help you.

MBA students have 2 internships, one being chemical core internship, which is done after 3 year for 2 months which is not shifted to last semester of 4th year for 6 months. Apart from this, there is a 2 month internship for MBA part. Earlier it was 2 months but now it is, also 6 months in the last semester. MBA students gets their internships done, both paid and unpaid included. But for placements, that story is not so good.

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university

Here the average package is 8lpa. Students start to get placements in their 5th semester. Microsoft, accenture, infosis, ibm etc are the companies which often visits for placement. University also guides the student for higher studies such as MBA and mtech etc. It provides guidance through dcpd, a department of career planning in our college

Some students can get start getting internships offers from 5th semester and most of the students can get starts getting offers since the end og 6th semester. There almost more than 910+ companies that visit the campus with various offers which can be from new Startups to MNCs. Highest package offered was around 2 crore pa and the least being 5 lpa and average being 10-12 lpa. 70-80% students can get placed from the TPP(training and placement program) provided by the college by the end of 8th semester. I plan to get a job as a java developer at first proceed towards a carrier in cybersecurity.

For campus placement students can involve in 7th semester also many students got their PPOs in 6th semester as well. There are many reputed companies visited in PEC like Apple, Microsoft,Adobe,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Amazon etc.Highest package this year was around 58LPA on-campus while average of all branch turns into around 14.33LPA.Overall more than 50 percent students got placed in all batch while around 80 percent placed in CSE due to recession. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or during my 4th year.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are quite good for my branch ( CSE ) but the mechanical and civil placement rate is very low only a few students sit for placement and are placed. Approx 80% of students placed in CSE, 70% in ECE, and 40% and 20% in mechanical and civil respectively. My plan is to go for a master's whether in india or abroad along with a part-time job.
