The CSE and IT branch of UIET Chandigarh is so good as compared to other colleges. The Placement is too good in these branches. Let's talk about Course Curriculum, well, the curriculum is like a typical Engineering college. There are 8 semesters. There are 2 minor exams and one major/University/end-sem exam. The exam duration of the Minor exam is 90 minutes and for the major exam it is 3 hours. So many seminars happen here.

The scope of computer science as well as the average package that the college offered as well as the feeback from the alumnis made me decide that the college is totally worth it , as well as the fee structure is also very cheap as compared to other engineering colleges hence the return of investment is really good . Curriculum was designed by a core team of Panjab University which comrised of various computer scientists taking the needs of industry in mind , courses like web technologies also got inculcated in the course and continous reviewing of the syllabus goes on . Not just the curriculum but also the way it was taught to us also prepared us for real-world applications .

Faculty members are experienced in their respective fields. In one semester, minors are held two times and then final end sem is held one time. The exams are well balanced having questions both difficult and easy also.

The course curriculum of BE CSE is very good and covers a wide range of topics and is updated as required from time to time. The students become industry-ready with the curriculum. End semester exams(majors) and sessionals(minors) are easy to pass and each course if of maximum 100 marks(50 - majors, 30 - minors and 20 internal) with passing marks around 40.

- I was studying at CSE -I would say prefer CSE/IT over any other branch if you want to have a decent placement in this college because Core companies don't visit too much. - In a class of CSE we have got 2 sections, and each class has about 60-65 students. - The faculty is quite experienced, every one of them is PHD and has done teaching in reputed colleges even IITs & IIM. - There is 1 Final SEMESTER exam every 6 months and 2 Minor exams of 25 Marks each and its best of 2 taken (Minors) and is added with 50 Marks of Major and a cumulative grade point out of 100 Marks/semester is given for that particular subject.
I have an interest in computer science and engineering so I chose this course and the placement of this course is the highest among the others. The course syllabus is good where u can learn various skills in the course itself. Some professors are really good but some of them are terrible but it's not the case in our college only most of the colleges have the same issue but students study on their own to get marks. The student ratio is almost 8:1 in CSE u can see a good ratio in IT and Mech. It is Engineering so can't expect more from it. Exams are really quick for 1st year due to the late academic session further from 2 nd year it is not that hectic. The paper level is good enough and is intentionally made hard for students so they should not score much. But it depends on the Teacher too.
I chooses this course because I am interested in this course as I aim to be a web developer. Faculty is also good, some put their 100 percent to teach students. Student ratio is equal in every branch. Faculty qualification is Ph.D. sessional Exams are taking place every 2-3 months. Semester exams are held after the semester.
The curriculum followed in UIET is pretty much standard subjects followed in most technical institutes. Many resources are easily available for studying. The faculty is good in terms of student-faculty ratio as well as qualifications.
Cse has the best placements and career-wise growth. The student ratio is as good as it gets in an engineering college. The faculty is good (knowledge-wise) but not supportive. All according to the calendar and it's easier for u to pass the exams if u have attended all the classes.
I have chosen CSE as my branch as I was totally interested in it. The faculty of uiet is decent as every govt. College has. There are some guest faculty also .all the teachers are well qualified and have done Ph.D. in their subjects. The teaching method of some teachers are good but not all are good. You know about college teachers. We have minors two times in a semester and final sem exams.
Media reports indicate that the placements for Panjab University UIET (BTech and MTech) Chandigarh in 2023 saw the highest and average package offered at INR 45 LPA and INR 8.89 LPA, respectively. It is worth noting that a total of 383 offers were made during the PU UIET placements 2023, and the top recruiters were renowned companies like Amazon, Dabur, and American Express.
It's noteworthy that there was a notable rise of over 9% in the average package offered during PU UIET placements 2022 in comparison to 2021. Furthermore, the number of offers made in 2022 increased by over 43% as compared to the previous year, which is certainly impressive.
The choice between CSE and EEE is subjective and totally depends on you. Keep aside your confusion about these colleges and give a thought to what you want to pursue by outlining the major factors that drive your interest the most.
You should rather explore the curriculum, campus, placements, packages offered, faculty, etc. of both the colleges in that particular field.
Both UIET Hoshiarpur and UIET Chandigarh provide a degree from Punjab University. I guess the highlighted difference you would find are the cities in which they are located and the campus life. Here’s a brief insight into the courses.

The question here arises whether or not you want to pursue higher studies after going for EEE. EEE in UIET would not provide you with good placements. Go for CSE at Hoshiarpur if you have no other options.
You can consider other options too if you have them.
My sister studies in UIET Chandigarh, and it's an excellent institution both spatially and academically. Chandigarh is going to be one of the most flourishing IT cities in India - which enhances the scope for those students who wish to pursue a career in the field of computer science.
You may also want to focus on these when comparing both-
You can see from the table below that it has an excellent placement record as well-

Apart from this, the facilities at UIET Chandigarh are quite good if you're interested in sports, then you can join a sports club at the Punjab University and get professional guidance through a coach. Chandigarh itself is a city full of good recreational spots, you can also join different creativity clubs as well.
According to the latest statistics, UIET offers decent placements to CS undergraduate students. Some of the top recruiters during the placement drive in the year 2021 were Vedanta, Tata Power, Amazon, American Express, Goldman, Samsung, and Hindustan Unilever.
If we compare the packages with the top recruiters you can see as follows:

Lastly, we can say that UIET, being a central funded college under Panjab University offers some good placements to the students though as compared to 2020 placement the highest package offered was less that depends upon market and other factors associated with it.
UIET Chandigarh may not be the best institute for B.E. CSE as very few faculty members provide quality learning to students. But if you are already into coding, then it really does not matter.
To sail through CSE in any other college (including UIET), apart from IIT, you need to keep in mind that CSE covers the overall computer learnings, starting from silicon to single printf. You need to focus on the concepts and core subjects like Operating System, Computer Architecture, Digital Electronics, Principles of Compiler Design, and Computer Networks. No institute can provide a surety to develop your coding skills. It depends upon your self-improvements.
Here’s a highlight of the CSE program at UIET.

If you want to develop coding skills, learn online using Linux, gcc, vim. Apart from the lack of coding culture life at UIET is great, you will have a good college life.
The choice must be done purely based on your interest. If you are not that interested in coding and if you take a lot of time to understand the core language, there is no point in opting CS even if it's in high demand. Once you enjoy what you are learning you will succeed in your job position. Otherwise, there is no point in being hung up in a course which you don't enjoy and for four years or even for the rest of your life.

If you don't have a specific preference and you are okay with either CS or civil, then clearly assess college reputation, placement stats, and other opportunities in the respective fields which are briefed out below.
As a branch CSE is on top when compared to Civil. But when you compare PEC and UIET, PEC has an upper hand. Set your priorities straight and opt for the best college for you.
