Course Curriculum Overview :

The scope of computer science as well as the average package that the college offered as well as the feeback from the alumnis made me decide that the college is totally worth it , as well as the fee structure is also very cheap as compared to other engineering colleges hence the return of investment is really good . Curriculum was designed by a core team of Panjab University which comrised of various computer scientists taking the needs of industry in mind , courses like web technologies also got inculcated in the course and continous reviewing of the syllabus goes on . Not just the curriculum but also the way it was taught to us also prepared us for real-world applications .

Internships Opportunities :

No intership is allocated from college but professors have projects to work upon so the system is selection based . On the basis of an interview by the concerned professors generally a student intern gets a sum of 5,000 rs per month

Placement Experience :

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements , Here 's the list of company visited the college : Policy Bazaar . com Kickdrum ZS associates HashedIn Alert Incedo Inc ProcDNA Highest package offered = 40,00, 000 CTC (Offcampus ) and 16 LPA CTC (ON CAMPUS ) Average package = 8 LPA CTC From CSE branch 95 percent of students got placed I am also campus placed and will be joining the company after degree completion

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Every year tuitiion fees were hiked at a rate of about 10k per year but generally the students politics organisation protested against the authorities and leading to undergoing a roll back of their decision . Tuition fees : 4 lacs (four years) Examination fees : 2500 per semester = 0.2 lacs (four years) UTECHNOS fees : 0.05 lacs total fees : 4.25 lacs PMSS were available for the students in which they mere abstained from paying half of the tution fees . There are many projects under various professors based on machine learning and they offered a stipend of 5,000 Rs per month .

Campus Life :

Annual fests include : Legacy Goonj Cyanide Jhankaar Books can be issued for a period of 10 days and can be further re issued later on after the expiration of the date All to all latest books and journals related to curriculum were available . Availablity of projectors and white boards in all the classrooms and all of them being air-conditioned Nearly all the athletic and non athletic sports are available can also access swimming pool otherwise there are sports events organised by the sports commitee of UIET regularly Various clubs like Debsoc , Mitra , Osmium , Euphoria are there which are a totally worth experience

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel room is generally small 12 feet by 8 feet room with no AC , will get a balcony and 2 single beds and two study tables per room . Meal quality is not so good but indeed cheap , 40 Rs per meal was the cost . Registration process starts right after joining college . Otherwise can take a room in Sec 37 , 38 , 24 or 15

Admission :

Eligibility of the course was based on CRL rank of JEE , at my time the last general category candidate was ranked 45,000 till the last round of counselling otherwise there also reservations for SC, ST, Obc and defence quota as well . The application form can be found out on the site of JAC Chandigarh and application fees is around 1500 and so if with application dates . In a semester we used to appear for minors twice and major once and the exams are of generally moderate level but minors are tough and majors are easy generally Everthing should be verified and completed online only as far as admission process is concerned

Faculty :

Talking about faculty -to - student ratio first its awesome as compared to other colleges , one batch of CSE has around 120 seats which is further divided in two sections and therefore 1 teacher at a time teach around 50 to 60 students . Some of the very experienced members were really awesome as far as their teaching is concerned they allowed us to even use internet resources to perform tasks that gave in lab practicals which were not a plug and chuck job , they made us learn from internet resources and class and then made us implement the code in lab sessions . Most of the teachers are really approachable and helping expect some . Teachers also promoted us to take part in extra - curricular activities not just the academics .

MBA students have 2 internships, one being chemical core internship, which is done after 3 year for 2 months which is not shifted to last semester of 4th year for 6 months. Apart from this, there is a 2 month internship for MBA part. Earlier it was 2 months but now it is, also 6 months in the last semester. MBA students gets their internships done, both paid and unpaid included. But for placements, that story is not so good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university

Here the average package is 8lpa. Students start to get placements in their 5th semester. Microsoft, accenture, infosis, ibm etc are the companies which often visits for placement. University also guides the student for higher studies such as MBA and mtech etc. It provides guidance through dcpd, a department of career planning in our college

Some students can get start getting internships offers from 5th semester and most of the students can get starts getting offers since the end og 6th semester. There almost more than 910+ companies that visit the campus with various offers which can be from new Startups to MNCs. Highest package offered was around 2 crore pa and the least being 5 lpa and average being 10-12 lpa. 70-80% students can get placed from the TPP(training and placement program) provided by the college by the end of 8th semester. I plan to get a job as a java developer at first proceed towards a carrier in cybersecurity.

For campus placement students can involve in 7th semester also many students got their PPOs in 6th semester as well. There are many reputed companies visited in PEC like Apple, Microsoft,Adobe,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Amazon etc.Highest package this year was around 58LPA on-campus while average of all branch turns into around 14.33LPA.Overall more than 50 percent students got placed in all batch while around 80 percent placed in CSE due to recession. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or during my 4th year.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are quite good for my branch ( CSE ) but the mechanical and civil placement rate is very low only a few students sit for placement and are placed. Approx 80% of students placed in CSE, 70% in ECE, and 40% and 20% in mechanical and civil respectively. My plan is to go for a master's whether in india or abroad along with a part-time job.
