M.Tech program offered by Department of Management has a total intake of 26 students. Similarly, the 2-year MBA program has a total intake of 78 students. The Dual degree programs of DoMS IIT offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees viz. BS./B.Tech +MBA or B.S./B.Tech+M.Tech of 6 years duration. Ph.D. program is offered for students with prior work experience and is generally for 2 years.

Admission to the M.Tech program is done twice a year. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or master’s degree in science with at least 55% marks.
Candidates are shortlisted for M.Tech based on their GATE scores followed by a Written Test and Personal Interview round.
For admission to MBA program, candidate must hold an undergraduate degree from any recognized university with minimum 65% aggregate.
Admission to the MBA course is done on the basis of the CAT score followed by a Group Discussion and
personal interview round.
Admission to Ph.D. generally opens in June and December every year.
Candidates applying for the Ph.D. program should have a master’s degree in Management/Industrial engineering with atleast 55% marks or a bachelor’s degree in engineering with atleast 75% marks and a valid GATE score.
For the Ph.D. program, candidates are shortlisted based on their marks and work experience.

DoMS IIT Kanpur MBA Admissions 2024

Admission is to the MBA course is done on the basis of the CAT score (85% percentile and above for general category students and 75% percentile for SC and ST applicants) followed by a Group Discussion and personal interview round.

Candidate must hold an Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory programs either in degree or in class XII) with minimum aggregate marks of 60% in Class X, XII and qualifying degree (55% for SC/ST applicants).

Admission to the program is done on the basis of a valid GATE score.
Candidates are shortlisted for the next round based on their GATE scores and qualifying degree marks.
Shortlisted candidates are then called for the Written Test and Personal Interview.
Finally, a separate merit list for each category (General and SC/ST) is prepared based on the Interview and GATE marks.

The entry to MBA course is achievable via the Common Aptitude Test exam held every year during the month of November. Since IIT is a government-funded institute, the return on investment is great here. CAT examination is one of the best opportunities to get into the MBA line of study, apart from a few others like NMAT, XAT, CET, etc. There is a reservation policy as usual in the government sector. Hence, there is a reservation policy in all colleges one will be applying for.

The college will start the GD/PI process from the upcoming batch post covid. The college should also focus on more engagement and conduct business conclaves. Also the college should market and promote its MBA program and increase the reach and awareness.

The basic eligibility of the course is the CAT percentile, and you need to have a graduate in either engineering or science. Further selection was done on the basis of SOP, academic records, and work experience if any. The application form was available on IME, IIT Kanpur's website and the application fee was Rs 1000. Admission is done based on the CAT score. Candidate must hold an undergraduate degree with mathematics as a compulsory subject in the degree with minimum aggregate marks of 65%. in class X, XII, and qualifying degrees for general candidates. For SC/ST it is 55%. The admission process begins in January every year.
