Everything you need to know about MBA, IIT Kanpur

Remarks :

The entry to MBA course is achievable via the Common Aptitude Test exam held every year during the month of November. Since IIT is a government-funded institute, the return on investment is great here. CAT examination is one of the best opportunities to get into the MBA line of study, apart from a few others like NMAT, XAT, CET, etc. There is a reservation policy as usual in the government sector. Hence, there is a reservation policy in all colleges one will be applying for.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MBA course is for those people who want to progress their career fast and go up the corporate ladder. An MBA degree nowadays has become a common thing for many working individuals. MBA teaches one candidate to take care of workload in a responsible way and manage their teams efficiently. At IIT Kanpur, the faculty-to-student ratio is high due to its limited number of seats. IIT Kanpur is reputed in itself as an Institute of national importance. The faculties here are highly trained professionals and responsible in their job. They are either PhD or are equally qualified. The exam schedule of the year is handed out almost a year prior so that students can plan everything accordingly. The most surprising fact is that the deadlines are met almost every time, so it gives the students the trust and guarantees that the exams will be held on time as mentioned in the academic calendar.

Internships Opportunities :

The college offers a record of 100% internship opportunities with an average stipend of 80,000 and the highest stipend of 1.6 lacs for the latest year of 2022. Job roles like Finance Analyst, Business development analyst, product manager, supply chain manager, etc are offered to students. It is very important for students to get an internship which helps with course credit points as well as placements later. This institute suffices both these needs via its incredible internship records.

Placement Experience :

If you are studying MBA, you are eligible for the placement process once you reach the second year. Companies come to visit starting from the month of August. There is a record of 100% placements in the college course and companies like Morgan Stanley, Juspay, Digit, Wells Fargo, ICICI bank, Deloitte, Accenture strategy, etc are a few of the many reputed ones. Every student can expect a decent placement after completing the course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

IIT Kanpur is a government-funded institute and is an institution of national importance, due to which, the tuition fees are minimalistic. Does the MBA course bear a tuition fee of about? 2.5 lacs for a total of 2 years. Students get an ample amount of opportunities for scholarships from within both colleges as well as from their respective states. A few of my friends had applied for a scholarship from their native states and were granted it by IIT Kanpur. This college is best known for its ROI in MBA. After spending a total of around 2.5 LPA for tuition fees, the average salary stands at 16.6 LPA and the highest stands at around 22 LPA. The average summer internship stipend is 80,000 while the highest is 1.6 lacs. As a result, the ROI stands at around 3 times.

Campus Life :

The campus being a National institute, does not leave a single occasion to be celebrated. But among all, the pan IIT Kanpur fest, Antaragini, is something to be experienced. This is a cultural fest held in IIT Kanpur where many celebrities are brought in to perform at the college. Regarding MBA, the Prabandhan fest is the one, one needs to look at. It is a tech fest hosted by IIT Kanpur, MBA wherein, students of other top MBA Coming to the sports and cultural committees, there are separate clubs for each segment, be it cricket, table tennis, lawn tennis, football, snooker, hockey, swimming, or adventure club among many others. There are cultural clubs as well for those who like to sing, dance, play musical instruments and others.

Hostel Facilities :

Here hostel facilities are available at IIT Kanpur, but not mandatory. Students of MBA are provided with single accommodation and the rooms are comfortable enough. Multiple clean washrooms, 24X7 drinking water supply, geyser facility, solar panels, 24X7 high-speed internet, etc are a few of the amenities one will get. There are also volleyball, badminton, and basketball courts apart from table tennis, a yoga room and others in each hostel. Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course of agribusiness because like after BSc in agriculture you can go for MSc in agriculture or MBA in agribusiness. I don't want to prepare for Ph.D. in the government sector so there is a better scope of an MBA in the private sector rather than an MSc in agriculture. Another reason for doing MBA is placement. The placement ratio of MBA students is better than m.sc students and salaries are also good. Another reason is in the private sector and MBA degree holders will get better promotions than average MSc degree holders. On my campus, there are 46 students in MBA agribusiness and 7 to 80% of them will surely get a minimum package of 350000 and a maximum package of 8 lacs. The guest faculty of MBA agribusiness is quite good. There are some teachers who are not as good as others but there is a 100% guarantee of course completion. Semester exams are not quite easy or too difficult if you will focus a little bit on your studies you will easily get pass. Semester exams are delayed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The trimester exam was there and it is pretty difficult to pass and have very good projects to work on plus the faculty is very good for finance. I am fortunate to be here. All the faculty is doctorate who are teaching plus have a very wide range of practical experience and links at big companies. The faculty is approachable. The college is very regular in respect of course and exam schedule. The course provides in-depth knowledge and exposure to students to real-life problems.
