I applied into two universities BHU and DU. I got selected into both the univeristies in their first round allocations itself. I got Miranda house in Delhi university and Faculty of Arts in Banaras hindu university. But i chose to study in BHU because my hometown is Varanasi and my parents wanted me to stay here and complete my graduation so i couldn't make it to delhi university. I knew i lose a very good opportunity but i am okay with the things in bhu too. Basically the procedure for admission is firstly you have to give CUET examination conducted by NTA and then your General test and English marks will be calculated for getting admissions in bhu. Then based on marks of cuet university will take admissions, release cut offs and the cut offs are relevantly high.

Sapna Malik
Alok TiwariStudied at Banaras Hindu University

To know how to get admission to BHU through a paid seat, you must first know what exactly a paid seat is.

Every year BHU conducts entrance exams during the months of April, May and June. After this, the university releases the cutoff list. The students who fail to reach the cutoff but are just slightly below it are offered paid seats.

The admission process of both regular and paid seats is the same. A call letter will be sent for counseling.

The biggest drawback of paid seats is that the fees are extremely high compared to the regular ones.

Does BHU offer admission only to Hindus?

Pranjal Sapra

For years, there's been a doubt lingering among Indian students. Is BHU for Hindus and AMU for Muslims? Though both universities might include Hindu and Muslim in their names, they welcome students from all walks of life. Candidates belonging to any caste and religion can pursue higher education in BHU.

The university was solely established to promote learning and research generally in Arts and Sciences in all branches and to advance and diffuse such scientific, technical, and professional knowledge, combined with the necessary practical training to promote indigenous industries and to develop the material resources of the country. Moreover, the university also reserves seats for certain minority-category students.
