Established in 1860, Harish Chandra Post Graduation College, Varanasi often abbreviated to HCPGC was started by a non- profit organization to impart education to locals. Initially starting with a high school, it now has courses up to post-graduation. The college is affiliated to M.G Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi. The college conducts three entrance exams, one for the undergraduate level, one for B.Ed, and one for the postgraduate level. The admission is based on the merit list that is created on the entrance exam scores.
