Aligarh Muslim University MA Admission 2024 is ongoing. AMU has released the MA counselling-cum-admission schedule. AMU MA (Mass Communication) Firm List-1/Merit List has been released. The last date for seat acceptance and payment of fees for candidates selected in the first list is July 16, 2024. Registrations, choice filling, and document upload for MA (Mass Communication) round 02 counselling will be done from July 18 to July 19, 2024. AMU will provide the MA program in online mode from this year. Know more AMU distance education
MA in any specialization at AMU is a 2 year Full-time course. The fee structure for different specializations varies, the fee is INR 26,000 (approximately)

AMU MA Eligibility Criteria

All candidates need to pass graduation in order to be applicable for the MA course at Aligarh Muslim University. The specific eligibility criteria for different specializations are detailed below.

MA in International Affairs	Bachelor’s in French or any other equivalent degree with at least 50% marks.

AMU MA Admission Criteria

For MA in any specialization, AMU conducts Departmental Admission Test for admission of students. Admissions are based on the marks secured by candidates in the Departmental Admission Test.

How To Apply?

Candidates can apply for admission at Aligarh Muslim University only through Online mode. The Application Form, other than online mode, will not be accepted in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate for each course of study. Follow the below mentioned Steps to be admitted to AMU MA Program:

Visit the University website www.amucontrollerexams.com.
Follow the instructions strictly as given in the Guide to Admissions and on the website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be disqualified from admission.
Candidate should then register online and provide his / her correct and functional email because the username and password etc. will be sent on this email.
Candidate should Registration only once for applying to the multiple courses.
After Registering candidate should login using his/her username and password. Dashboard of the candidate will be available to him/her for filling the form.
The candidate should fill his/her Profile carefully. Fields marked with asterisk are mandatory. After saving the Profile, the candidate will be asked to review and confirm that the particulars entered are correct. Candidate will not be able to Edit/Update his/her Profile after confirmation. If a candidate finds any mistake in his/her Profile after confirmation, then he/she will have to re-register with different Username and Password to complete all the entries afresh.
Candidate should fill details of his/her educational qualifications by providing the name of all examinations passed, including qualifying examination, year of passing, Examination Roll No., University/Board from where passed, and the percentage/CGPA obtained.
Upload the important Documents that are required for Admission along with thumb impression and coloured photographs.
Submit the Application fee through online mode only. The admission fee is not accepted in offline mode. The application fee is INR 700 for all Category candidates.
The Application Form is submitted electronically the moment the candidate makes the payment of the processing charges and payment is successful.
Candidates must take the printout of the Application form and keep it for future reference.

Documents Required

Scanned copy of date of birth certificate/High School Certificate of the candidate.
Passport Size Photographs.
Scanned copy of Marks-sheet / grade-sheet of qualifying examination.
Scanned copy of documents in support of claim under special category, if any.
Scanned copy of documents in support of Professional Experience, if any.
Scanned copy of No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed at present.

AMU MA Admission FAQs

Ques. Can students apply online for the AMU entrance test for the MA program?

Ans. Yes, students can apply for the entrance test online in AMU for MA and BA courses. It is conducted by the relevant department of AMU. It is a 100 marks exam and the duration is 2 hours.

Ques. What are the fees for an MA in international and west Asian studies at AMU?

Ans. At AMU, the fees for an MA in International affairs and West Asian Studies is Rs.2.32 LPA. For admission into these courses, students must have done graduation in French or any other language with at least 50% marks.

Ques. What is the percentage of placement in AMU?

Ans. The percentage of placement in AMU is very good. 211 students got placement in AMU in the year 2021. Their top recruiters are ICICI Bank, ONGC, Asian Paints, HCL, Wipro, and many more.

Ques. What is the minimum requirement to get admission in AMU?

Ans. For different courses admission requirements are different. If a student is looking to get admission in UG programs he/she must have scored 10+2 with aggregate 50% marks at least. For MA, M.Com, MBA there are different requirements.

Ques. Does AMU have negative marking for incorrect answers in the entrance test?

Ans. Yes, for every wrong answer there is negative marking. There is a deduction of 0.25 marks per incorrect answer. The entrance test conducted by the Aligarh Muslim University for Admissions into different courses is of 100 marks.

In Aligarh Muslim University I have done my graduation from political science honours and history and geography . My main subject is political science. In Aligarh Muslim University faculty of political science and their department are very good for students thode wanted to know about political thought and political structure . Before I getting admission in amu i always think that I wanted to join political science course because their teachers and the way in they teach us is very grateful that's why I choosed political science in my graduation and now i am doing my masters in History.

I liked the campus environment as it is full of greenery and provide you fresh air all around which help us to be close with the nature.
I like the infrastructure of the campus as different departments are formed in very royal way which give pleasant feel to eyes.

I don't like the allowance of all city members in the campus as it allow the people not good in morals to be roam here nd there in the area.
The campus is open campus and all vehicles are allowed which many time distract us and give noisy feel to the spirit.

The course curriculum was good for the theoretical level as it provide us details knowledge about different aspect of my field of Mass communication. The curriculum was based on print media that is good for those who want to be placed in that field but for digital purpose it is not up to the mark which is a back hole of the course. There should be focus give to the practical and digital part so the students can perform according to today's work culture and demand

The campus has building which has historical place in the society which back to 1920's.
It has very much Greenery and lawns in campus .

It has lack of hygienic water availability.
The campus has a lot of fust due to lawns etc

The course is very good covering all the aspects of mass communication with practical as well as theocratical knowledge in different fields of mass media . As mass communication is a leading program it needs knowledge of editing mixing and producing content

Pros and cons before taking admission into AMU

I liked campus and the environment. It's history.
I liked the Library facilities. AMU holds one of the biggest university library in India.

One thing I disliked is though the campus is open but the society is very closed. Boys and girls do not really interact with each other as compared to others.
I disliked the politics that is being played at AMU. AMU is too much politicised. There are even instances of gun firing and gang fighting.

The course curriculum is designed in keeping the UGC NET JRF exam in mind. The faculties are experienced, they have atleast teaching experiences of atleast 20 years. All are top notch faculties, but some teachers are lazy too.

Meal,Meal is sometimes is good and sometimes bad

My course name is M.A. Master's of sociology studies about society in a scientific way, I choose this course because learn about our society in a scientific way, rules, methods, and all. In my faculty only 34 students, My faculty teachers and other members are very talented in good methods of teaching. And qualification Ph.D. and highly course qualified. Exams are difficult but you study your professor's lectures moderately not hard and not easy so that The daily study you can do it.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The fee structure is very reasonable as it is a central university. We had to pay mininum fees. For example I had to pay around 20000 rupees for my entire MA. For my BA I paid 25000 approximately. Many poor students can access education here.

the course is covered within rs.20,000 (maximum). not more than this. first-year fees are almost around 8,500rs. Which reduces to 6,000 (approx) in the second year. this amount is not too much for a mass communication student acquiring a degree from a central university.
