The course is designed same as all colleges. They teach you 6-7 subjects in one semester, and take semester exams and they also take mid term exams. The marking scheme is 26 marks in mid terms and 50 marks in end term and rest 24 marks for class performance like assignment, tests. And also we have 75% attendance criteria for exams.

Some special effect that influenced me to get metallurgical and material science department is because of my rank and there is no other issue that influenced me as teaching is good in the department but some improvements are to improve the machines as they are not working properly frequently of a timing of exam is 1 month after each month we have to give a midterm or in term exam and the semester is of 4 month.

The course curriculum is not very outdated as compare to othe engineering colleges. It is still relevent in real world. In you course curriculum there are too many subject which directly related to your real company work . I just want to mention a 4 credit course which is Iron making which really contains all the application and phenomenon which are onging in the industry level. so the curriculum is still relevant not too much outdated but it still need to improve . I was quiet interested in the materials and their various indepth explanation so i chosen this course and i found worth it. In our college their is main two exams in a semester named end terms and mid terms , although a semester contains of 4-5 months so mid terms happens almost 2 months after the starting of the semester and end terms happens in the last months . generally for the winter semester it happens in the dec and for the spring sem it happens in the end of july.

The curriculum is the old one followed by most of the government colleges but NEP has introduced several new subjects such as robotics and AI which helps to get proper exposure to what is happening in the world. The exams ar easy to pass.

MME is a course offered by only NITs and IITs which reduces the competition as compared to other fields. Plus the curriculum is very efficient. It not only focuses on delivering information but how to implement the info in the real world. However, there is always room for improvement. The frequency of practicals can be increased. The exams are held very frequently but not too frequently giving us just the right amount of time to prepare ourselves.

Good Placements are the amin reason for the course selection. Circullum is very near to the reality . Teacher should teach according to the student understandimg level. The provoded time is more than enough for the exams according to their level of difficulty.

this course was my preference because of my interest in metal and mining , i was getting electrical branch in nit patna as per my jee mains rank but my interest and enthusiasm for metal brought me here . Faculty are too good to be true, they are always willing to teach students and solve there doubts. student ratio of our college is same as other government ENGG. colleges . all the teachers are well qualified , All of them had done their Masters and some of them has done Ph.d and rets of all are pursuing it. as the a year is divided into two semester , each semester has 2 exams. called insem and endsem, insem comprises of 30 marks and endsem is of 70 marks, the level of questions are east to medium, passing the exam is not a challenge.
To be honest, the placement for the same isn’t very appreciable in NIT Srinagar for metallurgical & materials engineering. However, there are students in the metallurgical department who are excelling, and NIT Srinagar is among the greatest universities in India.
