Course Curriculum Overview :
This is the only IIT where Petroleum Engineering has a bachelor's course, so the majority of companies come to the campus to hire the graduates. Facilities are highly experienced and qualified, some have even been teaching for the past 40 years.
Internships Opportunities :
You can get on-campus internships in the college from the third year itself and there are a lot of companies that come to campus including technical and core companies as well. There is ample opportunity for everyone.
Placement Experience :
If you are getting into the Petroleum Engineering branch there is no need to worry about the placements. A lot of private companies as well as PSU's show up in the college and if you have a decent CGPA you will have no issues in getting placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
A lot of scholarships are being provided by the college you just have to fulfill the eligibility conditions. There are special scholarships for the petroleum branch as well. It will take you around 12 - 13 lacs to complete your bachelors.
Campus Life :
Life on campus is chill. We have Asia's largest library so there is no need to worry about your books. There are fests going all around the year so you would have a quality time here. Sports facilities are top-notch
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is just great there is a brand new hostel for boys. For the first, second, and third years the rooms are double-sharing and for the final year, you get single occupancy rooms. Mess food is above average and there is flexibility in the menu.
Admission :
I took the Joint Entrance Examination and had to qualify for both the Mains as well as Advanced to get selected for the college after the counseling process was completed. If you can score above 98 percentile in mains you are good to go.
