Remarks :

I have been working in a leading MNC. But one day I realised that I was doing the same thing, so I started learning Data Science. I came to know abt ML post that. When I made some small projects, I decided to go for higher studies in the same area. In terms of research there are few good colleges in this area, IIT Kanpur being one of them. And I was right abt it, the research opportunity and the exposure I am getting here is indeed water for a thirsty mind.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculties here are very serious and sincere towards their work and research. At the same time, the understanding they have with research students allows students to perform better in the way they can to contribute to the research areas. I myself have been facing difficulties in the research problem and my supervisor is always ready to support me in all ways he can. Academics, comprises of coursework where classes are supplemented by assignments and projects. This allows students to not just understand but to practically apply their ideas using that knowledge. Everybody out there is well aware of the curriculum colleges like IITs, IIMs etc. follow. There are numerous students who have shared their experiences of being in such colleges, I would recommend the reader to please check them out as well.

Internships Opportunities :

No, but I have worked on self projects before joining the college. I worked on some hands on projects in data science and machine learning. I thank those projects, as I'm here as a result of them.

Placement Experience :

Almost everyone is aware of the placements that happen here in IITs. Yes, here people do get placed some at high packages like crores but some at low as well. So please look for avg or median in the course you are opting for like MTech Cs(avg around 20 lpa). It totally depends on the students whether they get placed or not, but here the question is not abt getting placed but what package you got? Technically all the students get placed in our college and the likes of it. Package mentioned below is for Mtech students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Well being in Ms+PhD, I get financial assistance in terms of stipend. This definitely helps in supporting the family as well as your minor expenses at college like fee etc. You may get selected for PMRF where you get more than double the stipend a regular research student gets, so yes there are numerous opportunities.

Campus Life :

If you are an Undergrad, or MTech/Ms(upto some extent) you will enjoy all the events and make time to manage your academics as well. Me being a research student(sort of work like a PhD only) so I don't get time for this

Hostel Facilities :

Just one word, Great. Everything is on time, and if you miss your meal we have canteen open from 2 pm to 2 am. Then we have the shops outside which can help you till 4 am. So technically, you can get food almost 24*7 throughout the campus. Now, there is a big ground, we have badminton area, etc. Hostels are affordable, if you get stipend you can easily pay the bills.

1. GATE, 2. written test and programming test followed by interview

Remarks:

Best thing is that we do get all the information through institute email, college management is very helpful they don't force you in unnecessary paperwork or permission stuff. The only thing that i lack in the institute is that unavailability of single room in the hostel.

Entrance Preview:

I had completed M.Tech from IIT Roorkee. Now, I wanted to take admission in Ph.D. for Ph.D. admission, every reputed college (generally) had eligibility criteria M.Tech and gate qualified. And they use to conduct a self-written exam followed by an interview. My GATE score was 546 and rank was 2995 in Gate 2015. I applied in IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur and MNNIT Allahabad.

Placement Experience:

Placement of B.Tech and M.tech courses students are quite good, because they are heir by IT companies. but Ph.D. placements varies time to time. Here, colleges (colleges from North India) come for placements and according to your skills and background education, and paper published, they offer packages. Average Ph.D. students get offer for 50000 per month.

Campus is very good, greenery everywhere. Location of institute is near ganga river, just 1 km away from campus. there is health centre facility and BHU hospital. I have one regret, i.e hostel and mess facility. Institute management should pay more attention on infrastructure and better facility as per IITs standard.

GATE, 96 percentile, this college provides perfect environment for research students. Faculty of the Civil Engineering department is compatible in all new research.

After completion of the PhD almost every student got the job opportunities. Mainly most of students are got job in the different Universities and Colleges. Here minimum package for the PhD students starts from 10 to 12 lakh per year. Some of the student also prefer to go in the research areas.
