I like biology very much. So I chose biology major as per curriculum. Because of The faculty members are very nice. And their natures are very nice. It is also good that they teach very well. Interships are provided in many types of courses. A professor does not fail by one mark in college.

The curriculum is not so good and not so bad. As in my college there is 4 month of semester and all exam happen in this time and you have to do all things, so this make a lot of pressure for the student to do it. As it is a research college so we can't expect any easeness in the exam as most of question are thinking based not on learning based. So it takes time to approach any question. But on the other way the 4 month is good because it gives us a opportunity for doing any internship in 3 month of summer + 1 month of Winter. In a positive way we can take this but it is good for 2nd year and onwards students mainly. In the curriculum this is averagely good for students.

It is a 5 years course. Course are quiet tougher than other B.sc colleges but it will be very effective if you are going in research field. It will also introduce you to the basic of research and it will help you in future. A habit of reading research paper are vey common in this couse work and will help in your phd. But if you dont want to pursue in research then it will be less relevant to you.

Courses at IISER Kolkata are not like usual curriculum in state or central Universities in India. IISER Kolkata 's academic curriculum is quite similar to that of US and European Universities. The focus of the curriculum is to teach and train us to make us researchers. So the courses are quite relevant if someone wants a career in research. Exams are very frequent in iiser Kolkata, apart from the mid semester and end semester exams, there are regular quizzes/class tests/surprisetests/assignments/grades tutorial problems every week.
There are two examinations corrected every semester that is the mid semester examination. At the end semester examination. The teaching methods are very well thought the faculties are okay with taking questions In the class itself
This college has a very different approach towards education it is a research oriented college and is different from those courses which you usually get to experience in other colleges. The frequency of examinations is well handled with the few class test and a mid semester along with end semester examination.

The course is excellent. BSMS is a relatively new concept in india and it is quite successful. Faculties of iisers are very experienced in their respective fields. They are very supportive and ready to take doubts in the class .

The pressure of studies is a bit high in the first two years then eventually when you get streamlined with your course it gets easier, every semester they conduct 2 exams the mid sem and the end sem along with a few classtests over making upto the grades. Relative grading is done in most of the courses and the results and cgpa.
