03 Aug, 2025 IISER Round 2 Admission offers have been announced. Check Admission Offers. The counselling for the selected candidates is ongoing and scheduled upto Aug 5, 2025 (5 PM). Further, the Round 3 Counselling will be conducted from Aug 8 to 12, 2025. Check complete schedule.

Admission to UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs at IISER Kolkata shall be done on the basis of scores obtained at either a national-level entrance examination or institute-level examination, followed by rounds of counseling or interviews. This college is the best suited college for fulfiling this purpose of mine. I had appeared for JEE exam and had got accepted into many colleges but I never wanted to follow the rat race of engineering so this was the college I opted for. For taking admission in this college you need to give the IAT entrance exam. If you qualify this examination you will be able to get admission in one of the most top research colleges of India namely- IISC banglore, IISER Pune, Bhopal, Mohali, TVM, Tirupati(in priority order).

I was a NEET aspirant but couldn't make it their due to high cutoff and latest year scam. I decided to choose BAMS college but got a good rank in IISER Aptitude Test so decided to come here. This was because IISER is always a good option for good exposure in the world of research and IISER Kolkata is one those prestigious institution. For admission in an IISER one has to clear an entrance test called IAT(IISER Aptitude Test). Secure good rank and should clear the cutoff. After clearing the cutoff one can secure a seat in one of the 7 IISERs, IISc Bangalore, IIT-Madras(for one specific course).

Beyond the Classroom: Life at IISER PUNE

Admission:

I also applied to IISC BANGLORE, as it is one of the prestigious colleges for research in India. I wasn't able to get admission in it so I chose another one of the most prestigious and national level college which is my college. Mainly because I wanted to focus more on Research field. I would have applied to IISC but I missed the application period for the college which I wasn't aware. Currently our college is taking admissions on the basis of IAT exam which is the official entrance exam for IISER.

I haven't applied for any other college. I targeted IISc which didn't come under my rank in IAT. Hence I opted for IISER K being close to it. The only channel for IISER currently is the IAT channel. All the JEE Adv, KVPY channels have been closed.
