Hostels are very nice and very hygienic. In one room 2 person live and room has enough space. Also you got two almirah, table, chair and bed in room. So there is very good in hostel life, also the hostels are very neat and clean as there is one sweeper per floor. So the bathroom and washroom are highly neat and clean. The hostels are very cheap like 1300 per month charge but you have to pay 5200 rupee one time when you pay the semester fee. Also the mess is very nice and hygiene is their first priority, There is not so fixed price for mess as they follow rule like hotel, like you have to pay on spot when you are going to eat. Also there is your own choice what you want to like to eat like veg, non veg etc.

The hostel is good for the 1st 2 years you will be 3 in a room, from 3rd year you will be in a double sharing room. Meal over here is affordable it is subsidised. and the hostel fee is nominal for a semester like 2000

Mess food is edible. There are special items every day.But you have to pay every time you buy something through your mess card. Hostel rooms are big enogh for 2 people but in first and second year you have to share it with two other students after that it become 2 people occupency.

Hostel rooms are equipped with bed, chair, table, almirah, etc. Rooms are either double sharing or tripple sharing for, BS-MS, MS students. Mess food is excellent. Registration fees and hostel fees are including the semester fees i.e. PhD students generally don't get hostel rooms, so they get a good amount of HRA, rented rooms are easily available just outsi6the campus.

Here you can get 2 sharing room or 3 sharing room, but the 2 sharing room is small for 2 persons but the 3 sharing room is enough for 3 people. The meal and menu quality of IISER KOLKATA is the best in India. Registration for hostel will be done in the day pf registration.

The hostel facilities are good, the rooms are a bit small (because they put 3 students in double sharing room, 2 students in single sharing room for first 2 years) . But the things are clean. Bathrooms are not so clean but much cleaner than expected from a govt college.

Hostal facilities are provided by the college and you also have the option to rent outside the campus but I recommend staying in hostal as it much cheaper 17k per year with good quality rooms , although only fan , table and bed are provided you can buy other necessities in from shops in campus, food is of very good quality, and manu changes daily repeating every 7 days , registation process is very simple and very affordable (3k per year +15k for food etc)

The hostel fees is included in the semester fees and it is around 1500 for each semester which is a very nominal price. The hostels are in a really good conditions with big rooms which accomodate two students.
IISER Kolkata has three hostels. The hostel accommodations are quite good.
Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Hall (ICVS): It is an all-boys hostel for BS-MS students. This hostel is closest to the lecture halls and research labs. You can get to the lecture halls within 2 minutes from this hostel.
ICVS has great facilities including high-speed internet, wash-rooms with geysers, washing machines on each floor. The hostel is under CCTV surveillance. However, there are no strict entering and exiting times specified.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB): NSCB has the same facilities as ICVS. It was also built at the same time. There are 2 wings for girls and 1 wing for boys. The boy’s and girl’s wings are separated by doors.
The main canteen is situated between NSCB and ICVS. The canteen is run by students. Below the main canteen, there are two stationary shops, xerox shops, saloons, and two refreshment shops.
Nivedita Hall: This hostel was built most recently. It is for the junior year BS-MS students. It has 2 wings for boys and 1 wing for girls. The wings are well-separated. It has all the facilities as the other two hostels. But there is poor ventilation.
It is close to the cricket ground, gym, badminton court, volleyball court. This hostel has its own canteen.
In the hostel, there are separate wings for Ph.D. and BS-MS students. Ph.D. students are allotted single rooms and BS-MS students are allotted double sharing accommodation. There are no hostel facilities for post-doctoral students.
