I applied to sxc ,ju and Scottish Church. I got selected in all of them. I chose sxc over Scottish Church as it's nirf rank is higher and I didn't choose ju because the environment is better in sxc and more volatile in ju. However factors such as political union, etc may not affect everyone.

As I said I was from pcm, I applied for 2-3 engineering colleges because I was determined I did not want to pursue engineering. I got into the merchant navy as well and that too in the best college of India but I had to back out due to family obligations and concerns . I chose English hons to go a little easy on myself for the next years but it didn't go as planned. I still have to study the same .

SXC is every commerce students first choice as the college has a cut-off of 95 percent for West Bengal students and for others it's 97. Merit is the only way out here and for evening students it's 86 percentage. Students from all parts of the country come here as SXC is one of the best name in India and is at par with SRCC or HR college or NMIMS of Mumbai.

I got selected in PUBDET and was eligible to take admission in PRESIDENCY UNIVERSITY, KOLKATA . But here in Xavier's the course curriculum and infrastructure and also faculty stuffs just resisted me to go there. Also there often occurs party politics issue in other colleges, but st Xavier's is totally autonomous and politics free college. Hete admission process occurs via 12th Boards marks(2×marks in maths+total aggregate) Cutoff goes little bit high.

I did not apply to many colleges as i knew i would get into this prestigious college. It is known for it's brand value which would be beneficial in times of placement. I had a few backup colleges which i got into but i did not take because i got into Xavier's. The college accepts admission based on merit and the cutoff is always around 90% and above, although the last lists can go to 86-87 lowest percentages.

The reason I choose St xaviers College was that it was my dream to be a part of this institution since childhood and when I got the opportunity because its food good marks in class 12 I applied only in St xaviers College and lovely I got it but I faced certain challenges such as I was asked to go home at the time of registration because I was wearing round neck collar t-shirt which is strictly prohibited and I did not know about this secondly my certificate of class 12 did not carry my principal signature so they rejected it. you need to keep it in mind because the admission process is very strict but the people are very helpful and cooperative if you communicate with them properly

I did not apply in any other college except the St. Xaviers College Kolkata. This college was chosen by me due to the prestige that this college carries, plus the love for economics which I had always. The Economics course from St. Xaviers is a must-do thing if you love economics and get admission in this college. Admission is only through the Higher Secondary Boards Results. The maths score and the aggregate score are combined to get a total score out of 200, on the basis of which the selection is made. The eligibility differs with Board and Stream chosen. This year the cut off for CBSE commerce was 193/200, whereas for Science ISC, it went to around 197. Admission is very tough, as thousands of applicants eye on limited 80-90 seats. Also, reservations are available, which reduces the available seats for general candidates.

I choose this college over other college because of the brand value and placement of this college . The colllege considers board marks for admission and maths is compulsory for this course . The college considers Marks obtained in maths + Boards percentage considering best of 4 for this course and cut off comes out of 200 . The cut off for generak category for the year 2024 was 192/200.
If you are getting the morning section, choose St. Xaviers. The institute has an amazing commerce department. It is one of the top commerce colleges in the country. The faculties and infrastructure are excellent. There are tonnes of extra-curricular activities to pick from.
The department has a good placement record. Each year around 90% of students get placed through the campus drive.
