The teachers are very helpful and solve each and every doubt without any hesitation. The practicals are done under proper supervision and they are great.
Wipro and Techno, many projects are upcoming, such as the campaign to eradicate poverty and seminars to welcome cheetahs in the Alipore Zoological Garden.

Dislikes

If you want to study and pursue a masters degree after your bachelors, then the professors will give a glowing recommendation.
There is very little politics in the college, and ragging is not allowed there, not that it is done there

Placement Experience:

Placements at the graduation level are comparatively much better at Bethune College. All departments are open to sit for placements during their final year. Companies like TCS, WIPRO and other big companies offer placements to the final-year students. Professors help you through the process and the Placement committee is active in this matter which makes it easier for students. The highest package offered to the bachelor students is 3.6lpa with a median salary of 2.4lpa. Placements are roughly 50% as most students opt for PG courses which is actually a better option if someone doesn't have an urgency to get a job. Personally, I feel a master's degree in a respective course will fetch a high salary in the company. Economics graduates can opt for MSc, MBA, CFA and many other respective PG courses.

Well maintained campus and friendly nature of professors . No sort of ragging from the seniors .
Campus life is quite good with basic amenities being provided such as drinking water , canteen is quite good and clean washrooms

Dislikes

Less activity in clubs as students are more focused in studies .
Classrooms are sometimes not that well maintained

Placement Experience:

Placements are available for the final year students. Companies like TCS and Wipro come to our college with avg package of 3.3lpa. Most students opt for higher education such master's degree in their respective majors. I would be opting for an MBA after my graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I loved biology as a student very much and especially as an animal lover I chose zoology. The student ratio is about 1:6, Every professor has a doctorate in their particular field with a minimum experience of 5 years and the method of their teaching is very skilled. 2 exams per semester.

Has a great college history. It is around 150 years old.
The faculties are highly educated and intellectual.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took up this course because I always wanted to get into the field of writing and pursue my favorite subject from such an esteemed university has indeed helped me. There are around 6 faculty members and each one of them is amazing and highly knowledgeable. Most of them have a Ph.D. in English. The professors teach and treat you like their own children and help you on a personal level as well. We had 6 semesters in 3 years. If you study properly in your course duration, you will excel in the subject since the faculty teach you from the ground level.

The subject of Psychology has always been of great interest to me, I have always wanted to pursue a career in psychology. Among all the other colleges in Kolkata, Bethune College has one of the most popular and renowned Psychology departments. The team of highly qualified professors take a keen interest in nurturing young students and helping them understand what awaits them in the field of Psychology. A team of five Professors bring forth their years of experience and knowledge while teaching a class of 38 students. Not only do they actively carry forward the course curriculum, but they also stand as tour guides and mentors when you need them. They make the student's exam ready and provide all the necessary notes or lecture slides needed for scoring high percentages.

All 3rd-year students and sometimes 4th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies including TCS visit the college. On average, 4 LPA is offered. A lot of students who want to get into jobs right after graduation get placed.

Just a peak- Bethune College

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked mathematics in higher secondary and also only got the marks required to get admission to a reputed college in mathematics. So I enrolled in this course. In Bethune each semester 4-5 teachers teach us(31 students approx) in our batch. The professors have high qualifications. They try to conduct the interactive class and to look upon everyone's problems. The exams were not that easy, the questions are set by the Calcutta university but sticking strictly to the syllabus helped me pass.

M.Sc on Zoology at Bethune

Remarks:

M.Sc Zoology gives students vast knowledge about animal kingdom. Admission for this course needs graduation marksheet as well as HSC result for pursuing the course. GD, PI are not needed. Admission is based on merit process. 22% and total 6% of seat are reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively.
