Remarks :

The admission was based on 12th std. marks. One needs to have high scores in the related subjects of their honors field. The application form, fees, and dates details are found on the official website of the college. There are few seats reserved for the SC, ST, and OBC.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the course because I wanted to explore the subject. There are 5 professors in this department, hence, a five-star department. The professors are highly educated and have experience of 10+ years each. They are cooperative and approachable as well. The term exams are of quite a high standard.

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 1396 per year

Placement Experience :

All 3rd-year students and sometimes 4th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies including TCS visit the college. On average, 4 LPA is offered. A lot of students who want to get into jobs right after graduation get placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Here, since it's a Government college under Calcutta University, the fees structure is very less with a lot of facilities. For B.A, the fees are around 1100-1200/year, and for B.Sc, the fees are around 1396/year. One can avail of Kanyashree/SVMCM scholarships as well, in the college, which has the value of 25000 and 18000 respectively.

Campus Life :

The college has a lot of clubs. The BCSC is a non-political union of students. And there are various clubs with active members, like the cultural club, literary club, photography club, film and drama club, and science and environment club. All are free of cost. There is also an NSS unit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course curriculum & faculty members are quite good, 1st of all I have preferred Bsc Biotech because of my extreme interest in genetic engineering & upcoming situations of Covid 19. Also, this subject has a possibility for a Blooming future in the upcoming days of the Pandemic/epidemic. The Faculty in This college is quite good & The laboratory benefits & materials are also Supportive & workable, This college provides one of the oldest Biotech labs in West Bengal. The student ratio is also balanced. Saying about Qualification of the faculty, The Professors have atleast 6-10 yrs of teaching exp and research performs in their career, they are all friendly & supportive and helps us to explore more in this subject The term exams are Moderate & have standard questions.

This college still today stands to be among the first choice of every student in the hooghly district and 2nd in the Burdwan University. The only negative part is that this college has a very high political presence in the campus. Though the present government said that they oppose such strong political holds in colleges but still this words has not been kept.
