In terms of academics, very good and experienced teachers are here, providing education to the students and also helping them in all kinds of ways.
The experience was really nice because I had a chance to work with one of the biggest agencies in Kolkata. I am really grateful to them because they gave me the opportunity to work with them on one of their biggest campaigns to date.

Noting to dislike at all. Clg consists of very well infastructure.
There's nothing our college has that we have to dislike. Its a perfect example of clg student need to be in.

The course I am Persuing is very serious. Students need to be focused all of the time in studies.. As physics is very difficult subject, students need to engage themselves all time in studying.. And there's numerous career opportunities with physics

The faculty is really good. They are all well qualified and the college definitely doesn't compromise when it comes to academics.

Dislikes

The campus is way too small for any extracurricular activities to be conducted.
They don't have enough exposure to stuff other than academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always liked psychology since the day i took the subject in class 11-12. I was very determined to persue psychology in my graduation as well as masters. The curriculum convinced me more to study this subject and know more about it. The curriculum involves all the aspects including it's applications in the real world. I personally don't think they should make much changes to the curriculum.

Our college environment was very good. And I like that our college is an anti ragging college where junior seniors all work together and help each other.
Our college is very clean and cleanliness is strictly monitored. And the security system of our college was very good with CCTV cameras on every floor.

Dislikes

Our college did not have any canteen for which the students had a lot of problems and also there was no separate fruit room
Our college does not have a good playground andBesides, there is no teacher for sports sports are not looked after in that way

The study of Bengali is slowly decreasing, students are not getting it because no one is getting any job after studying Bengali. And no one wants to give importance to Bengali language in that way, so I want it.

The toilets are clean and there is availability of a sanitary napkin vending machine

Teachers are very rude and not friendly at all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I loved psychology as a subject hence I decided to choose this course. The curriculum prepares us pretty much in a considerable amount for the real world. The curriculum should not be so much in detail for sem 1 itself. It is very detailed and varse for someone who is in Semester 1. The current syllabus, alteast requires more than 6 months to prepare properly, and the difficulty of the practicals is very unreasonable.

The environment of campus is great like there are green plants everywhere which makes the college more appealing.
The college structures is quite aesthetically pleasing

Dislikes

The campus could have been bigger as the area is very small for otger activities.
The college does not have thier own auditorium which is necessary for a college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I love english language as a subject and because Gokhale has a reputation as a good college which is known by everyone in Kolkata, based on that I took my admission here and I absolutely do not regret my decision. Here in Gokhale college, the current faculty is very good and there are five professors who are highly qualified and the strength of the class is nearly 45 to 48 students. The faculty here is really friendly with students and focuses on both academic and physical aspects. The teaching method here is quite good like you have a TV in classroom which is used for ppt presentation, movies and interviews of the author to enhance the knowledge and depth of text and giving opportunities in academic sessions which are frequent in college with career counselling. The semester exams are quite on time and the topics for paper work are also provided when the chapter are done within time. The exams are obviously difficult but preparation are done really well

Likes

Faculty is quite qualified. Professors are humble and friendly.
The location of the college is great. Nandan, and maidan become the main go to spots when you don't have a class or two in between.

Dislikes

Campus life is zero. Not much space for many activities.
Infrastructure is average. There is a dearth of classrooms and also no proper auditorium is available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always had a knack for understanding the mechanisms of human brain and behavior, and hence I opted this course. There are 6 faculty members for this department and the number of students in my batch are 68. The faculty seems to be well qualified and practicals are conducted along with adequate lecture classes. Midsems are held along with the university exams.

The seniors are very helpful and friendly
The social atmosphere is welcoming and easy

Dislikes

The classes are not conducted properly at times in the English Department
All the teachers are not punctual and at times don't inform the students if classes are cancelled

Placement Experience:

The students get placements from Semester 5 and 6. Various companies visit the college like Tata. The internships occur in all the fields once conducted by Radio Mirchi. Since in the field of psychology we don't get a job as soon as we complete graduation my plans are to pursue my Masters degree and Doctoral degree before getting jobs

The library of the college consisting of all rare, first hand copies of expensive books.
The various seminars that takes place in the college based on such different issues.

Dislikes

The college doesn't conduct fests or other programmes like that.
The administration is often rude and irresponsible.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to pursue my careers in psychology and Gokhale is one of the oldest and reputed institution in the city for this discipline. The department consists of 6 professors and 40 students on average. The associate professors have doctorate and the assistant professors have either complete their b.ed and m.phil. The faculty is pretty good and knowledgeable. The semesters usually happen in time and you need to put in enough effort to pass.

The best thing about GMGC is that it provides for a very homely environment...it really feels like second home...if someone is looking for a college life where they can enjoy more and study less then this is not the place but for introverts it is apt
Campus is descent with a quite good canteen,decent washrooms(even for the physically challenged),sanitary pad vending machines coolers

Dislikes

Classrooms sometimes become suffocating due to space crunch
Administration could have been a bit more organized

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was firm enough from the end of my class 12 that I would pursue psychology and had heard that Gokhale is one of the best colleges regarding psychology honors. The faculty is good, and almost all of them are approachable enough. The class strength of 50 is smoothly managed by 6 faculty members and 2 lab assistants who are also an integral part of the department. Necessary study materials are provided to us timely. The lectures given are very helpful..even the PowerPoint presentation we are shown also acts as a help. The college conducts a mid-semester examination which is very helpful, and the students who do not succeed to acquiring the minimum marks (40%of 25) attend the remedial classes arranged specially for them The only improvement that is suggestable is that if we are notified about the mid-semester exam a bit earlier it would really be a help.
