- Calcutta University Online PG Registration Process has started. Students admitted to the PG courses must upload the relevant documents from Nov 6 to Dec 31, 2024. Further, Migrating Students must submit a hardcopy of the Students’ Registration Form at the Registrar’s Office from Nov 11 along with other required documents.

About Rani Birla Girl's College
Rani Birla Girls College is an undergraduate college for women. It was established in 1961 by Hindustan Charity Trust. It is a government aided college affiliated to University of Calcutta. College functions under a democratic governing body with members consisting of representatives from the University of Calcutta, the Higher Education department of the Government of West Bengal, teaching as well as a non-teaching staff and from the students of College. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is one of the most prestigious women's educational institutions.
RBG College is a complete learning centre with all the modern facilities, updated with the changing needs of the students and education sector.

- A central computer library complete with internet has been providing IT education and training to all the students
- Department of Geography has a well organized laboratory equipped with all the modern surveying and mapping instruments

The Admission process was easy we just had to submit our 10th and 12th Marksheet and other document if the 12th and 10th marksheet marks are matching the criteria the name will be on the admission list. The application form is available online as well as it can collected from the college.

- Campus size is not very big which can became a problem
- Canteen is too small which can cause problem to students

You have to pass class 12th to take admission in this college admissions are purely based on class 12th marks there is quota for sc st obc students this college comes under Calcutta university so semester exams are taken twice in a year

- the homely atmosphere, cool faculties, academic routine and classy but cheap food available in the canteen.

- the boring campus life and parent rteacher meetings after every annual test exam.
Admission:
There was no admission process per se but since I opted for Communicative English which was under the Major category, I had to undergo a PI session with the examiner where my language skills along with communication and idea about general knowledge was examined. Of course, the marks obtained in XII board exams were taken into consideration.
Likes
- The fee structure is nominal and affordable
- The faculty is good and helpful especially the English and Political Science Department

- Lack of studio and practical room facilities

The eligibility was a 12th pass or equivalent. There was no entrance exam, the admission process is direct. Candidates can get the admission form on the official website of the college. The application fee is INR. 500. The application dates are communicated on the official website. The admission process is easy and convenient.

As per the new Guidelines from the UGC for every course, candidates need to undergo a common entrance exam based on which admission will take place. Previously, it merit list was purely based on marks obtained in the respective subject a candidate is applying for and the overall percentage received.
Admission:
Finding a college for mass communication was quite difficult because not many colleges offered it. But Rani Birla was a good choice for journalism due to its vast exposure and a cosmo environment. People with reserved quotas may get an advantage. Admission is merit based. The minimum requirement is 50% with good marks in the best 4 subjects. Due to the prevailing COVID situation, everything had been done online. The students will be called to the college for the verification of documents.

Stringent rules about timings. We were not allowed to leave campus before 2:30 pm, even if we didn't have classes.
Admission:
Myself being an RBGCian, I would say I quite enjoy being in this college they are definitely friendly in nature, if you do your work on time, no one's gonna have any problem, the registration and admission department is quite slow because of lack of staffs and specialist, lack of online system could be seen here. The faculties are great and helpful.
