Sivanath Sastri College is part of the City Group of Colleges run by Brahmo Samaj Education Society. It is a premier girls’ college in South Kolkata affiliated to the University of Calcutta, recognized by UGC and was founded in 1955. The college offers many undergraduate courses in the field of Arts, Science and Commerce such as B.Com Hons, B.Sc and BA across various specializations. Admissions to Sivanath Sastri College are merit based for all courses except for B.sc courses. The institute also follows the reservation policy, therefore seats are also reserved for candidates. Also, for admissions to all courses, basic eligibility criteria for reserved category students is 40% aggregate marks or 40% aggregate in required subjects.

- Among all the degree colleges of commerce in Calcutta, Sivnath Shastri has the best faculty and course design.
- All of our teachers are good, and the infrastructure is superb. Our college is also great in academics.

- There are no placements or internships, but they might provide placements for some other courses.
- There is nothing as such, just a canteen with very bad food. Half of the time, the only staff appointed is missing

Admission process is not so harsh. One can take admission if they score 50% overall in there 12th. One can find application form on the internet only..and can fill it and submit it there. There is no sharpeness in time starting for exam.

Eligibility criteria for bcom is General category 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in accounts 55% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in maths/stats. (Science students) For SC/ST/OBC - A/OBC- B 40% marks in aggregate or in related subject. Application form, fees, dates will be available in the college official website notice. - The social life is amazing. They encourage you to participate in cultural activities both intra college and inter college. This gives a lot of exposure.

- The infrastructure is not very modern but I wouldn't complain because that's what made the environment for education somewhat.
- The common room is an absolute joke. So practicing for fests would be a task.

The cut off is definitely higher than most private institutions. But if you've scored above 85% you'll easily get in the second or third list. Since this is a government college there would be reservations. The admission process was very secure and smooth.

Eligibility for admission in this college is merit list based which is according to cut off which is decided every year. There are numbers of seat available for reserve candidates like SC, ST and OBC. They get extra benefits in cut offs. No exam was taken for admission

A person has to be 12th pass to take admission in BCom. And in Sivanath Sastri College the cutoff goes up to 80% for general category students. Admission process is all good in my perspective. Though exams should he taken in 6 months .

Students need to have at least 60% marks in their best four subjects including English. The application form is available on the official website of the college. The admission process is smooth and simple.

Students who want to get admission to seventh Sastri college for b.com (Hons.) Should at least get 75% ( general category)in their 12th standard. Sanath Sastri's admission forms have to be filled out online and there is no offline form available. Schedule caste, Schedule tribes, and other backward castes are provided benefits of reservation but economically weaker section reservation is not available. At the time of filling admission form students have to mention whether they are availing reservation or not. seventh Sastri college provides a list of candidates who are eligible to apply for admission. But colleges prefer students on first cum first serve basis for these listed students and not on their marks. As soon as seats are full for the course no student can be entertained further even if she falls on the list. So anyone who gets her name on the list of the selected candidates for admission needs to go to college as per the prescribed time and get admission as fast as possible.

Our admission process was online based on Google and it was fully merit-based. Students who are eligible for the course. The eligibility criteria for the students to get Bcom Hons is above 60 %marks in 12 th. Our college has reserved seats for backward class students. Hence overall it is nice no need for improvement.

The admission process is totally based on the Merit list which is form by seeing the Higher secondary best of 4 subjects score, Higher the score higher the chance of getting your favourite stream. The minimum percentage must be 85% above for availing B.com Hons degree. Age must be 17+. And must be H.S passed.
