Computer engineering is considered a really good course for job opportunities. Moreover this course curriculum is quite easy and enjoyable. Coding and learning new languages makes it a very interesting course.

All about GCET Jammu

I like the way of teaching by the teachers. The teachers are very friendly with students.
The college also give students chance to take part in many activities like sports, coding, hackathon, logo making, etc.

Dislikes

The college is far away from jammu city. Its about 18km from Jewel Chowk Jammu
There is not any transport facility for students given by the college students together book a bus for transportation and pay about ₹17000 monthly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course that I choose is btech in mechanical engineering I choose it because I love to learn about machines and how they work. The curriculum prepares very well for real world application because there happens many practical things they cocenterate on practical knowledge. The area for improment is that sometimes the student don't have classes and they are free at that time so they need to make the time table properly so that there will be not any free period for long time for about 2hr other than break period. The frequency of eam is good there happens exam in every 6 month and its enough for a student to prepare for it.

The campus was very large almost 110 acres
The canteen is very clean and campus was also

The campus is quite spacious and full of greenery.Its a very quite campus.The faculty is well qualified,polite and supportive.The HOD of the computer department is DR. SIMMI DUTTA who is a very supportive and polite teacher.
Also, DR. JYOTI MAHAJAN AND DR.BHAWNA SHARMA are very supportive. They will help you a lot with coding and placement related stuff respectively.

Dislikes

The campus isn't well maintained at all. The infrastructure hasn't been maintained since the college is built.The entrance of the college is so worst that nobody would come to know if any college exists at that place.
Our college covers an area of 108 acres but 75-80% of the area is just ruin and not being built up at all.The wshrooms are very dirty and filthy always running short of water due to which it is full of bad smell all the time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The disciplines such as ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and MACHINE LEARNING influenced my decision to choose this course. The cirriculum prepares me well for real world applications and further academic pursuits. The teaching methods must be focused mainly on practical rather than theory. The internal exams happen once a month and then the final exams.The level of the exams is ok and you can score well if you are thorough with the topics and have tried solving previous year question papers.

Good infrastructure and staff with proper guidance .
Hostel facilities in reasonable and affordable price.

Dislikes

The location is away from main city which makes it difficult to reach.
The locality of the college is not as well good.

This course provides a lot of job opportunities in various departments and the technical knowledge is provided well and practice of various instruments is provided well which helps further in field after placement.

Laboratories of college are well equipped. The lab staff is highly qualified, especially the civil engineering department.
The faculty is very cooperative with students. Although the faculty is hired on contract basis , but they are very much dedicated.

Dislikes

Sporting events are very rare, the college donot support sporting events. They call it time wastage.
The college is situated far from the main city . No college bus or regular buses are deployed for that place. S

Course Curriculum Overview:

The content of the course is very much relevant to the field of study. The course curriculum is strictly derived from the AICTE'S directions. The teaching method in the college is traditional using the board method. But from past some time, the smart boards have been provided in almost every department, but in some classrooms the smart boards are still missing. The exams are held after fixed time intervals. The dates for sessional exams are fixed by the heads of the department and their timing is 1.5 hours. The finals are held per b University rules and are of 3 hours duration.

Fees is too less, roughly RS 20k per year, Rs 80k for Full engineering. Parents can able to afford my engineering becoz of less fees of Gcet Jammu
Best Engineering College of J&K (Except for iit jammu and nit srinagar), Faculity are too supportive, College is within 20km from my home. Well maintained Computer lab. we can do coding practice at cs lab at any time we want.

Dislikes

no internet provided by college on campus
Bathroom are not well clean and sometime trees grow soo crowdly

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is the best Btech engineering college for me becoz of less fees and I can able to do engineering. course updated frequently and exam are moderate level and two times internal exams happens for each semester

Course structure is overall good and the subjects taught in first two semester is comon to all branches. then the core subjects are taught. The overall syllabus is good and detailed and the teaching facility teaches most of the syllabus.

College infrastructure and the extracurricular activities
Different branches have different labs as per the requirements.

No Electronics and communication blocks.
No facility of ambulance in the clg and less transport facilities

Overall courses are good. The subjects taught in first and second semester is common to all branches. The courses are detailed after 3rd semester the core subjects are taught from 3rd semester. That's it

No equality as per boys hostel is there but no girls hostel is present

Course Curriculum Overview:

Very interesting field according to me for myself that is why I choose electrical engineering. Very helpful staff members with high discipline and motivation help us to get higher achievement. No such but i think practical knowledge should give high preference. Moderate level.
