Multiple fests are organised throughout the year some of them are Zephyr , Tarangan ,etc. Multiple books from varied fields are available in the Library and every student can access them and even take them home for self studies for a limited amount of time using library card. All classrooms are air conditioned along with a projector and white screen and also a white board with marker. Tcet also gives opportunities in sports such as cricket, football and other such sports. There are multiple clubs too for example The tcet green club, tcet shastra coding club, these clubs provide students extra co-curricular activities which enhances real life skills.

Faculty:

Well most of the faculties have a masters degree and experience of over 10-20 years or maybe even more. One batch consits of around 60 students that are under one class teacher. But even among these 60 students 3 groups of 20 students is created and they are provided a separate mentor to handle issues and doubts. The teachers are almost always available they even receive calls and texts and respond quickly. Mentors are generally friendly with the students and have a frank and friendly behaviour towards students which helps us get comfortable and share our problems without hesitations.

Placement Experience:

On-campus placements are available at this college, but only mass recruitment companies come here, offering salaries between 1.6 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and IBM visit every year. However, the TNP officers are not good at their jobs. Some students who are TNP coordinators receive special opportunities in placements. The IT department has more placements than the CS department, with almost 50% of students getting placed. On the other hand, in the CS department, only 30% of students get placed, and other departments do not have good placement opportunities. The average package is nearly 3 LPA, and the highest package is 7 LPA, offered by TCS. The placement information published on the college website and in the brochure is completely wrong and misleading. Some off-campus placement statistics are included in it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This college is associated with SPPU, and the university course curriculum is outdated and not useful. The content is very old, and there are repetitive topics that you study in the second, third, and fourth years. Most students get an 8+ CGPA without studying. I think this situation is common in all government universities in Maharashtra.

College events are the best time for an entire college life! Speaking about events in DMCE let's divide the events into different types. First, the event that is conducted in every department where each of the department had its own committees such as our comps department had CSI which is a nationalized committee, the IT department had GITS, the Civil department had fomes, and many more. Each of the committees organizes different kinds of events mainly hands-on sessions and seminars. The second event that appears in DMCE is MVM which is the Marathi Vangmai mandal where students from every department organize the event that promotes Marathi culture and the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and we also had guests last year we had Shiv Thakre who was the runner-up from Big Boss 16. The main college event is MILESTONE where the event happens for about 2 weeks it includes sports and an annual gathering which includes dance, singing, and price distribution of sports winners.

Faculty:

I was from the COMP department and for our department we had 2 teachers for each of the subjects for each sem and along with these two teachers for subjects we had a teacher for our practices too. each of the subject teachers is highly qualified with PhD holders, some of them had actually written the books of Tech-neo of the subjects which are included in our syllabus. Each of the teachers had a one to one on a personal level of understanding towards the students and was always concerned about the student's future, as they regularly checked up on the internship opportunities for the students on their personal level and tried to give that opportunity for the students those are really concern about their internships and everything. Our teachers were available for us anytime as they used to interact with us in the groups and also on the calls whenever we needed them or any kind of help from them.

Ques. My JEE main rank is 10000. Can I get computer science in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Danish Khan on 31 May 24

Ans. No, you will not get CSE in NIT Trichy with a 10000 JEE main rank. But you will get to pursue CSE from NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, etc. Your rank is quite good but it will not be enough to get admitted to NIT Trichy. However, you might get admitted to other branches in NIT Trichy such as Production, ICE, MME, etc. You can also prepare for JEE Advanced and try your luck with the IITs. Do not lose hope because NIT Tricbhy is not the only best institute in the country to pursue CSE. Also, CSE is not the only course that will lead you to a successful path. There are many other colleges and many other courses that are equally good. Research and take your time. You will surely do great. All the best!Read more

Ques. I got NIT Surathkal ECE and IIIT Bangalore CSE. I am joining IIIT Bangalore CSE, is it a good decision?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 14 Sept 23

Ans. This is a very subjective question. However, as a student of ECE at NIT Surathkal, I am writing down a few points in defense of my degree- First of all, NIT Surathkal offers a much more complete and diversified engineering education. This is because you will get to interact with the students of various disciplines from around the institution. This will offer a good exposure in contrast to the IIITs which are entirely focused on CSE and ECE branches. ECE is the branch of the future. CSE is turning more and more into a commodity. This is due to the dilution of its educational standards, and the increasing volume of students in this branch.  As an ECE student, you can always learn programming (it is in fact a part of the curriculum in a limited manner). However, it is much more difficult to learn the concepts of ECE as a CSE student.  As an ECE student you can be placed in a software company, but as a CSE student you can’t work in the E&C field.  Both the colleges are good, but NITK holds more prestige because it is much older. Its campus is very impressive as well. But even IIIT Bangalore CSE is a great option. Once you’ve made a decision, stop seeking others’ opinions. Instead, work on your skill enhancement. Considering the sheer lack of core jobs in the electronics sector in India and the huge placement opportunities in the IT sector, your choice is good from a placement point of view. Read more

Ques. What is the average salary of an IIT Bombay CSE graduate?

● Top Answer By Akriti Gupta on 07 Jul 23

Ans. The average salary of an IIT Bombay CSE graduate is around INR 23.26 LPA this year. IIT Bombay's highest package this year stood at INR 1.5 crores and was offered by Microsoft. I’m a general CSE graduate from top IITs receiving high packages in the range of INR 18-25 LPA. There are many factors that contribute to the high packages received by IIT Bombay CSE graduates. Some of the core reasons are Extremely high quality of education A very strong alumni network The excessive demand for skilled CSE professionals in the job market IIT Bombay will serve you best if you are interested in pursuing a career in computer science. A few top recruiters that recruit CSE graduates of IIT Bombay are: Google Goldman Sachs Oracle Microsoft IBM Samsung Amazon Adobe Uber These companies offer a plethora of opportunities in software development, data science, machine learning, and cloud computing. Ques. What makes it possible for BITS Pilani CSE students to fetch an average annual placement package of 27.07 LPA, the highest in India for any undergraduate CS course?

● Top Answer By Divya Saraf on 27 Jun 23

Ans. BITS Pilani was able to fetch the highest average in India for any UG CS course owing to the numerous international offers that it received. I don’t consider including the international offers after converting them into Indian offers and then calculating the average as things like stocks and bonuses for subsequent years are overlooked. Thus, the resultant average is inflated and misleading. No doubt BITS is a great institute but being a private one it certainly publishes exaggerated ads and misleading figures to attract the crowd.  BITS Placement Unit is infamous for its actions and bias so the inflated figures also served the purpose of silencing the ones that criticized the unit.  The only solution to this problem is for colleges to come together and decide on a common declaration format for job offers. The Indian and international offers should be normalized according to purchasing power parity, and stocks made available after 3 years of working should not be considered part of a person's salary 'package'.Read more

Ques. I got CSE in VIT Vellore and will get mechanical engineering in NIT Calicut. Which one should I choose?

● Top Answer By Suchit Raghuwanshi on 27 Aug 21

Ans. NIT Calicut stands among the top NITs where you will get a lot of exposure to extracurricular activities. As it’s a government college, the fees will be relatively low as compared to private universities like VIT Vellore.  On the other hand, VIT Vellore isn’t that great institute plus being a private institute the fees is quite high for most middle-class students. If you choose Mechanical here then you can go for two different paths.  The first path is to go for mechanical core, in which you will get ample research opportunities every now and then. However, the placement scenario will not be that great and you might get some PSUs as campus recruiters for mechanical jobs. The second path is to go for IT Jobs regardless of your mechanical branch.  For this, you need to start doing regular coding and relevant skills to compete during the placement rounds. Most of the students are placed by mass recruiters, Although many reputed companies hire but very few students get placed by them. Categories Mechanical at NIT Calicut CSE at VIT Vellore Course Fee 5.48 lakhs 7.83 lakhs Highest CTC 20 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 9 LPA 6-8 LPA Recruiting Companies L&T, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Tata Motors, etc. Flipkart, Oracle, HP, Dell, etc. At last, it all depends on your interest and caliber to do well on various career paths. However, if you are inclined towards CSE only then VIT is quite a good option because placements are pretty good there for CSE. Some of the major recruiters include PayPal, Microsoft, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, etc.Read more

Ques. Should I choose IIIT Hyderabad over IIT Bombay for CSE?

● Top Answer By Advait Joshi on 18 Aug 23

Ans. Choosing one between IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay for CSE will depend on your personal preferences since both the institutes are highly regarded especially in the field of Computer Science. Always remember that your success rate is directly proportional to your efforts and not your college.  Consider the following aspects and the preferred choice in each of them If you are looking for an elite peer pool with the most geniuses minds, prefer IIT Bombay to IIIT Hyderabad as it comprises JEE toppers, Olympiad Toppers, etc If you are looking for a better coding culture then IIIT Hyderabad it is. It has a larger number of students involved in GSoC, Competitive Programming, Open Source, etc If you want a better campus experience as a whole go for IIT Bombay. Its campus has a lake, a hill, a jungle, Mumbai City Skyline view, thus the quality of life is better here. Both the institutes have equally good placements for the average students while IIT Bombay has better opportunities for toppers. If you value brand name and tag then IIT Bombay is the obvious choice.  If you are a research enthusiast then you will get better opportunities at IIT Bombay because of better professors and alumni network. Moreover, the IIT tag gives you an edge in foreign higher studies. So make your choice based on your preferences!Read more

Ques. Should I study CSE at BITS Pilani or CSE at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 24 Mar 23

Ans.  When deciding between IIT BHU and BITS Pilani, it's important to consider both colleges from different perspectives. Both institutions have their own strengths, and making a decision between the two can be challenging. Here are some important things to consider about each institution: IIT BHU : It is considered one of the top IITs after the top five IITs in India. It has a vast infrastructure and lab facilities because of its affiliation with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It has a long history of excellence in education and has been around for longer than some of the other IITs. It has some of the best faculties among all the IITs. Most importantly, getting an IIT tag from IIT BHU can help you in many ways throughout your life, such as impressing people and carrying it to foreign colleges and companies. BITS Pilani : When it comes to placement and package, BITS Pilani is considered superior to IIT BHU. Its placements are often higher than even the top IITs. The hostel facilities available at BITS Pilani are unmatched by any IIT. Even recruiters do not make a distinction between IITs and BITS Pilani when it comes to reputation.  Here are some more reasons why IIT BHU could be the right choice for you: IIT BHU is part of the prestigious IIT league, which is considered the most prestigious group of engineering institutions in India. Don't fall into the trap of people who might say that the IIT tag won't matter or that IITs are fake or the worst. The IIT tag can help you in many ways you might not have even thought of. IIT BHU has a far better placement than BITS Pilani. Being part of the IIT league means that you can explore yourself with other IITs by participating in inter-IIT tech, sports meets or other inter-IIT meets. IIT has more brand value than BITS Pilani. IITs charge fewer fees than BITS Pilani. IITs have bigger and better alumni bases than BITS Pilani. IITs are well-known and have a more international reputation than BITS Pilani. Ultimately, the choice between IIT BHU and BITS Pilani will depend on your individual needs and goals. It is important to weigh the pros and cons of each institution and consider your future aspirations when making your decision.Read more
