The course is good and vast. Being completed the 1st year of MBA, I can say that it is a little togh for Btech graduates like me and since the concept of relative grading persists in IIMs, I found it little tough to compete with non engineers in Finance subjects. The areas of improvement could be that the number of subjects could be reduced to enrich our learning experience and make our learning better. The exams are on a tougher side with 2 exams in each trimester being held.

MBA at IIM Ranchi is a comprehensive course, including a plethora of subjects from all domains. The curriculum is designed in a way that it not only enhances your personality & academic periphery but also prepares you for corporate culture with regular and engaging projects, presentations and case study based practical application of theory. Exams are conducted twice every trimester. Students get to be a part of committees, clubs, and SIGs(Student interest groups) where they get hands-on experience in managing events, working in teams, interacting with the professionals and networking with people currently working at corporations For the first year of MBA, students are made to study all the subjects belonging to finance, marketing, operations, strategy, and analytics. This helps the students to learn about every domain and then identify what domain they should be going ahead with and coming to the second year, the subjects of interest can be chosen in order to develop expertise.

IIM Ranchi offers a rigorous curriculum designed to learn management skills. I took admitted to the flagship postgraduate program in management. The course was up to the point and useful with lots of case studies and practical learning experience. The faculty was one of the best in India with senior faculty from IIM A/B/C. The marketing faculty was the best as they had immense experience in the domain. Teaching methods were classroom learnings along with practical case solutions. There were surprise quizzes and the exam level was moderate to tough.

The curriculum is designed to give you industry experience and equip you with the traditional and model tools and techniques of the Business world. The MBA HR course is one of the best HR courses in India. The faculty is highly qualified, they have industry networks as well as exposure to the latest happenings of the business world.
MBA as a course provides an enriching perspective to a person. It's not just course or books, the people you will meet and the placements and every aspect of the course prepares you for the corporate life ahead of you. The pedagogy used and the faculty are well qualified and the exams are held 3 times a year.
I had too much interest in the business feild and I want to do a startup after completing my MBA so I chose this course as it provides a good platform. Most of the teachers were qualified and knowledgeable. All were helpful. The teaching quality was above average. The course curriculum was relevant. It almost makes students industry-ready. No college can make us 100% industry-ready as companies' requirements are different. We have to appear 2 exams per semester that are mid sem and end sem and some quizzes also.
The exams were held timely mostly though there were sometimes when they had to be postponed by some days. It is fine because the exams were held virtually and there were obvious technological challenges for the college administration initially. And I don't have any problem with that. In terms of difficulty, they were easy to moderate. Our college has relative grading for most of the courses. So it is easy to pass unless you have done some serious malpractice. Some professors really gave difficult questions. But if you can't do it then so can't the others as well and therefore grades won't be affected much.
Since you are curious about finance only, I will try to answer your question based on the Finance domain only. To elaborate let’s consider the following merits and demerits
Merits
Demerits:
All in all I think IIM Ranchi is a decent choice for Finance and in the years to come will have improved a lot.
Yes, the IPM program of IIM Rohtak is actually worth it because it’s an IIM after all. Both Rohtak and Indore excel at their IPM programs. If you are not willing to sit for the CAT again and are not confident that you will get in despite trying this is the best option for you. But if you want to explore more opportunities and are confident of getting a better CAT percentile next year this program may not be for you.

Overall I personally feel that the IPM program at IIM Rohtak is worth trying.
The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter.
Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers.
So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try.
As a fresher, you will find the curriculum quite hectic and unapproachable. Yet with proper motivation and enough time you will find yourself adapting to the rigor and it will become a part of your life. Some major highlights of the course are

So the PGDM program offered at IIM Ranchi is a pretty good one.
YIF and IIM Ranchi are both very different yet equally good.
YIF is more like a social learning program that includes diverse topics such as Economics, Shakespeare, Art, and Group Dynamics. You develop a comprehensive understanding of the social problems around you. I have seen many friends forgoing the offers from top B Schools just for this program.
The programs offered at IIM Ranchi on the other hand will give you an insight into the corporate world. As you can see both options are extremely different in their essence. So choose wisely looking at the big picture.
Compared to the older IIMs it is not very good but compared to the newer IIMs it is way better. Its USP is its location in an Industrially rich belt that increases your chances of having an excellent career in Management.
Now if we compare it to the other B Schools, it ranks lower than FMS, XLRI, SP Jain, MDI and JBIMS but higher than IMT, IMI, Fore, XU, GIM, etc. It is better than these B Schools because of the IIM brand.
This program is best for people who want to enter the field of teaching and academics.
