Course Curriculum Overview :

IIM Ranchi offers a rigorous curriculum designed to learn management skills. I took admitted to the flagship postgraduate program in management. The course was up to the point and useful with lots of case studies and practical learning experience. The faculty was one of the best in India with senior faculty from IIM A/B/C. The marketing faculty was the best as they had immense experience in the domain. Teaching methods were classroom learnings along with practical case solutions. There were surprise quizzes and the exam level was moderate to tough.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunity with college is good as 100 per cent of students get an internship from college. There are various companies coming to campus for roles like (finance, operations, Analytics, Sales and Marketing, and HR). Some of the key names include (HSBC, JP Morgan, Asian Paints, Accenture, Cognizant, ICICI, etc). The average stipend is 55000-70000 per month and the highest stipend is 175000 per month. I was offered a stipend of 1 Lakh per month by one of the leading Analytics companies.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good at IIM Ranchi. placements are driven by a student body called CRPC (Corporate Relations and Placement Committee). There are 2 placement seasons (summer internship and final placement). Summer placements start during 2nd term and final placement starts in 4-5 term. The number of companies visited IIM Ranchi was 110 and they made offers to all the students. There was 100 percent placement in our college. The highest package offered was 67 LPA for international and 32 LPA for domestic. The average placement was around 18 LPA. I was selected by one of the leading consulting firms and I will be working for that company in the future.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is similar to any 2nd gen IIM. I took a loan and my entire fees including mess food and everything was INR 1750000. There were quite a lot of opportunities for scholarships including SC/ST scholarships and IDFC bank scholarships based on need and even government-provided grants were also given. Moreover, I got into a 2-month summer internship program and earned 1 Lakh per month (The combined total for 2 months was 2 Lakh)

Campus Life :

Life on the IIM Ranchi campus is amazing and very charming. All the assignment's deadline is at 11:59:59 PM and campus life and party starts after that. There are lots of clubs and committees as it is a completely student-driven college. There are clubs for each domain (Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc) and there are committees such as (Facility Committee, Alumni Committee, Sports Committee, etc). There are also self-interest groups such as (dance groups, Singing groups, Drama Groups, Painting groups, etc) The annual fest is Agon and Rush. Agon is a technical fest and Rush is a cultural fest. Both the fest adds a great charm to college life. There are lots of books available on various business topics in the library and there is also an E-library where students can refer to the wide database online. Classrooms are wifi enabled and there is huge projector and boards for the faculty to teach the students.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel Facility is good. Single rooms are provided to all the students. Washrooms and rooms are cleaned on a daily basis by the hostel staff. The hostel block is WIFI enabled and a proper bed with a table, chair, and full-size mirror is provided. Mess food is not that good, but considering another peer IIM's it is up to the mark. They serve both veg and non-veg food. The menu is usual chapati, rice, some sabzi, and sweets during dinner.

Admission :

Eligibility of course was Graduation and clearing cut off for CAT I found the application form from iimcat website. Application fees was INR2400. Exam date was 28-nov-2020 I availed EWS reservation and secured 90.42 percentile in CAT 2020 Later I got call from all CAP colleges and was able to convert all of them.

Placement Experience:

100% placement assistance is provided to the students and after in the term of placement of the students university is too good at it. And they focus each and every students for the placement drive and after all it's totally depends upon the student whether they want to opt in for the placement drive or they want to opt out for the placement drive due to higher studies and starting or managing their own business.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good considering the fees which is charged by XISS. The overall ROI is great and most of the big MNCs and organisations come for the college placements. It completely depends on the individual how he/she cracks the interview. College gives everyone the opportunity to sit for the placement process

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students get eligible for placements. I guess around more than 50+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is always around 20+ lakhs and on average you can consider 12 lakhs while the lowest is 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed can be said around 95%. My plan is to get a good corporate job and work there as such no fancy plans.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The HR course was quite comprehensive. Lots of subjects were dedicated to different functionalities of HR. Lots of focus on Law, and employee benefits, worker rights and employer responsibility. The course boasts of some of the stalwarts of the industry teaching different courses such as the Professor who teaches compensation is responsible for designing the compensation structure over at HUL. It's very comprehensive, and periodically reviewed to remain relevant to the changing times

Course Curriculum Overview:

My Fate, I just slipped in the name of the college, 'social service'. Never do that mistake. That too if u r experienced, Please do not even see the college website. I chose rural management, funny. 75 students in a class. 6-7 faculty in the department. Half of the faculty doesn't speak proper English. There is a lady called Aditi who is placement coordinator. She cannot speak a word in English. She is the placement coordinator.... just imagine situation of the placement. In the second year of the college, from each department, a placement representative will be selected through election. All the PRs should work under her. That's the horrible part. She is a coordinator but acts like a gangster. U cannot call her with name. In 2020, that too a professional course, u cannot call anybody with name. Same old slave mentality. U should call by mam and sir. She ruined my entire second year because I was a non hindi speaking student. Teaching faculties are well qualified but 1940-50 methodologies

Remarks:

IMS is located in the heart of Capital of Jharkhand Ranchi surrounded by Parks and greenery. College is good. I can give 8 out of 10. It's not like IIMs or other prestigious colleges but it is nice college to explore your inner talent.
