  • I disliked the number of subjects in a term. It should be lessened out.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is good and vast. Being completed the 1st year of MBA, I can say that it is a little togh for Btech graduates like me and since the concept of relative grading persists in IIMs, I found it little tough to compete with non engineers in Finance subjects. The areas of improvement could be that the number of subjects could be reduced to enrich our learning experience and make our learning better. The exams are on a tougher side with 2 exams in each trimester being held.

Internships Opportunities :

There are many companies coming to the college with good brands and good stipend with seniority roles. For example, JPMC, Synergy consulting, Titan, Samsung Electronics and many such brands hire from my college. The roles are generally managerial level senior roles.

Placement Experience :

The placements in my college are extremely good with various good brands hiring from the college. In the 1st year, the students sit for the SIP placements for the internships and generally 40% of them grab the PPOs. Now coming to the final placements, the placement season starts from August 2nd year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Generally, the fees of a college is proportional to the average package offered in placements. The fees of my college is around 19 lakhs including everything. The fees is at a moderate level I would say. There is also a Merit-cum-means scholarship policy in the college where the students are also eligible for a full refund of the fees incase they match the scholarship criteria of merit and means.

Campus Life :

Overall, the campus life is excellent with all the festibvals being celebrated on a wider scale. There is an annual fest named as "RUSH" which is organized in the college every February. There are many clubs and committees that a student can join. Also, thefe are many Social Interest Groups (SIGs) in college that students can join.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is provided insiude the campus itself. For the 1st year,,my accomodation was a 5-BHK flat given to 9-10 students. the flat was very airy and spacious with 2 people in 1 room. The meal quality is of moderate level.

Admission :

I was a Btech graduate and further worked for 2.5 years in IT sector. I gave my CAT exam and got 94.96 %ile. The exam wasa of moderate level and after that I sat for PI. It was a CAP PI, which has 9 to 10 IIMs. I was lucky enough to secure a seat in IIM Ranchi.

Interview Experience :

Yes after giving that CAT exam, I got a PI call from the CAP team. The CAP interview was a 15 minute interview where they bascially focused more on my job role and why I want to do MBA. They also emphasized and asked questions about ChatGPT. I already prepared these topics.

Admission:

Admission is on the basis of merit. Students securing their name in the merit list are invited for the interview round. The interview was a lengthy business but the management was pretty supportive throughout the entire admission and counselling process.

Placement Experience:

All the students get placed so 100% placements. Major companies like HUL, P&G, BCG, Nestle, Mondelez, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Flipkart, GSK, etc visit the campus for placements. Average package offered was 19.21 lakhs for 2017 batch.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very good. It focuses on practical learning from case studies of Ivey Business Schools. The electives and specialization have to be chosen in the second year. We can specialize in 2 courses of our choice in the second year.

Fantastic college, facilities, atmosphere, faculty and peer network. Only disadvantage that the campus faces is that it is located in Jamshedpur, so it means a fair bit of travel to reach there from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore or Hyderabad.

Remarks:

My overall remarks about this college is good. however I just want to give one suggestion that it should grow its infrastructure as space available is not much. for example play ground is there but very small and library is attached with computer lab.
