SASTRA University Admission 2024
Admissions to various programs at SASTRA University are both entrance and merit-based. Admission to B.Tech/ 5-Year Integrated M.Tech. program at SASTRA University is done under two streams which are as follows:
- Stream 1 (Based on JEE (Main) Score and 10+2 Marks): 70% of Seats
- Stream 2 (Based on 10+2 Marks): 30% of Seats
For all other UG courses, admissions are based on the marks in the qualifying examination. For all PG courses, the admissions are based on scores in the qualifying degree programs and a written test. For Law courses, admissions will be based on the CLAT Scores and 10+2 aggregate taken in the ratio of 25% : 75% respectively. Admission to Ph.D. will be based on the performance in aptitude and subject tests followed by a technical interview.

Ans. No, students do not have to submit any separate applications. Applicants are advised to submit an application with +2 points and JEE (Main) along with relevant photocopies. It is a type of counseling process. First we have to fill application and pay the application fee of 600. Then they will announce rank list based on our 12th mark and jee mark according to that they will give course.

At first we need submit an application for admission in sastra which costs around 800. Rank is given by sastra based on your JEE Mains percentile and Inter marks. There are two streams which sastra gives ranks. One is 50 percentage weightage for JEE MAINS and 50 percentage weightage for Inter Marks. Other is 75 percentage weightage for INter Marks and 25 percentage for JEE Mains. Reservation is only given people in Thanjavur and Trichy city.

Sastra's admission is purely based on your board marks and JEE marks, there is no management kinda thing here, there is basically two streams, first one is based on collectively of your board marks and JEE, and the second one is Purely JEE, I got it through JEE

As we are the part of early career program, so we didn't appear for any type of entrance exams. It is just based on our 12th standard results that is above 60 percentage. And all the process has done by online, so it was very easy to apply.

- The way students are divided into different classes not based on merit
- Hostel fees is very cheap compared to any other college. It is 16k for girls and varies from 20k-25k for boys

- Research scholars when given a class to teach, absolutely destroy the experience and understanding of the subject

I belong to general category.during the admission process I was asked to submit my tenth grade, 12th grade marks along with my jee score. I got seat through jee mains as I scored 95 percentile. As I belong to Andhra Pradesh state board they don't offer any reservation for it. They do offer reservation for Tamil Nadu students.

- The best thing about college is its faculty members they cooperate you in every matter and helps you in many situation.
- Placement of college is good as compare to other private colleges and better than others so this is also a plus point for joing sastra

- But as a north indian student there is difficulty in language barrier
- Difficulty to adjust in food and mess food is averge but you cant do nothing because mess is compulsory for hostel students

Admissions are only online mode. Application can be done in sastra website. Admission category is only merit based. They consider 12th board percentage and JEE percentile. NRI students can be joined in NRI Quota.

Both Class 12 Board Marks and JEE marks will be considered for admission process (50% Weightage each) If the student didn't apply for JEE then his/her JEE marks will considered as zero. 20% Seats are reserved for Students from Thanjavur and Trichy districts (10% percent each) And 30% seats for Tamil Nadu Students

eligibility criteria is that to have passes in central or state board exams in 10th and 12th. The selection has two methods one purely on board marks and ther wihich takes in consideration of the JEE marks in a 75:25 ratio respectively. There is only one reservation that i the regional reservation given to the trichy and thanjavur students . 10 % seats are reserved for them. Under SASTRA University Dean’s Merit Scholarship, a two-fifth and one-fifth concession in semester fees is given to a student who is amongst the top 3% and 3% - 10% respectively in his class.
SASTRA University Hostel Scholarship
SASTRA University offers scholarships amounting to INR 16,000 as Hostel Scholarships. To avail of this scholarship, minimum class attendance should be 90% with no indiscipline records. A minimum CGPA of 7.5% should be maintained. Payment of every semester fee without fines is mandatory.
