I wanted to pursue an science based agriculture relevant courseSo I chose food process engineering,Faculties are friendly supportive and gives complete guidance for the successful completion of course, and ensures that students get thorough subject knowledge. The institute has an resounding environment with hi-tech lab facilities which gives practical knowledge.Every student works with clear and progressive motive to attain excellence in the subject matter under the guidance of facilitiesAnd also the institution ensures application of project for real-time use, beneficial for the farmers and society.2 Semester per yearExams are easy to pass
I choose this course because I like studying food technology. Faculty is very helpful to students. Most of the faculty are those who had doctorate. Yearly we have 2 semesters. So total 8 semesters. For every semester exam includes mid term, practical exam, final theory exam. Everyone has to study for pass the exam. Difficulty is based on student not on subject or exam
I believe, I have choosen the best course in my life and it's proving to be true. Food Technology as you see, it's a brilliant course which includes processing from farm to fork of all foods. You can know what's food science, it's chemical reactions during cooking, what will happen to food during processing steps, what things we need to follow during its processing etc. This Food Technology Course comprises Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Food Packaging, New Product Development, Non Thermal Processing of Food, Thermal Processing of Food etc. Term exams will be conducted every 6 months (sem exams, we can say). Odd Semesters usually starts from Aug - Sept and ends in Jan - Feb. Generally, In November you will be having mid semester exams. The even semesters generally starts in mid Feb and ends in July - Aug, with mid semester exams in April and one month summer holidays during May. Difficulty of exams is one's perspective and it changes from person to person. All I can say is, study well and take inputs from your seniors, understand the basic concepts, then you'll clear them with ease.My faculty are, one of the best faculties one could've asked for. Every professor is a specialist in their own departments, they did their PhD research works in the world-class universities. They have lots of experience in their fields and will definitely help you with your research works.
Food processing sector is most doing sectore at present in India. So got intrested to choose in it. Highly qualified faculty all are doctrates with minimum H-Index of 4 in their research work. Exams occur every 6 months as a semester and courses affiliated to Tamilnadu Agriculture University
Course curriculum seems to be bit tough, but with well learned faculties and well equipped labs this toughness can be changed. Academic department has been a bit down considering the results and pass percentage. The faculties are well experienced in their fields with most of them having a doctorate in their own subjects.
Good learning place with complete freedom. Students gain knowledge over 360 degrees based on their interest and caliber.
There are no placements in our college. Placements were low for our seniors and were not effective. The placement percentage was below 20%. The average salary offered for B.Tech students is Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month. Companies that visited are Aachi Masala, Naaga, etc.
The practical exposure was off the charts. We saw a lot of machinery in action. The college is pretty flexible in terms of education. The curriculum is a mix of both theory and practical classes. We learned about different food processing techniques and tools. A special class was dedicated for the training of the machinery.
