Curriculum are quite good specifically I don't choose this course by my choice I choose this course because of my rank in jee mains yes the curriculum prepares are of real world applications like practical labs area also there which helps students for understanding the practical aspects of there course . According to me the curriculum should be same but the attendance policy should be removed.

If I talk about the chemical engineering curriculum. It is very comprehensive and relatable to the real world if you are interested in the academics. In fact the new curriculum of chemical engineering completes all the aspects.

The curriculum set up by our institute is quite apt to the on going changes in Chemical Industry. All of the important topics like MTO, CRE, HTO, FFO are taught to the students on timely basis , specially in their Second and Third year such that they are able to get a broad and better idea when they reach in their Final year of Course. Few improvements which could be done are regarding the labs, More of Software learning based labs need to be arranged , nevertheless most of the faculty try to implement it but due to lack of timings , it eventually doesn't get scheduled. Regarding the exams , few internal assessments are taken Bi Monthly while the Semester Exams occur in a span of 4-5 months. Overall the syllabus and schedule of the Exams are well prescribed. The circullum gives quite freedom to go beyond and learn in depth as per your interests

I choose this course because I really happy with chemical subject and also chemistry. And my brother is chemical engineer so that he actually ask to me what is the actual work work as a chemical engineer in industry and other companies. So that finally I decide to choose this course. The academic syllabus is very complicated and lengthy so that preparation is very dedicated and consistent. The mid semester paper is 1.5 hours and end semester paper is 3 hours. And mid semester paper is easy as comper to end semester exam paper because paper is very lengthy and taught. So that all students preparation is very dedicated and consistent. As my opinion the teaching method is not highly good so that improvement in teaching methods of curriculum course. Also improve classroom facilities and infrastructure. The exam time is very difficult for all the students because students consistently prepare 18-20 hours.

Course is overall good if you are actually instrested in chemical engineering. We get deep understanding from the 1st sem itself and professors are also tough, which overall makes us work hard and understand the subjects.

I chose chemical because placement states of chemical is good for this college here we get industrial knowledge by our experiments and internships. For 1 sem there are two exams one is mid and another is end-sem exam and total 8 sem are present.

My branch is chemical engineering and the methodology followed if updated with new world's tech and it is highly beneficial for the students. Also under NEP, certain changes are made for further smooth functioning of curriculum. Faculty members have immense amount of knowledge in their respective field.

I chose this course because I am a programmer and need time for self-study and we get the maximum free time in the chemical branch with minimum labs and classes, also it is not a very difficult subject. The faculty: student ratio is around 1:12 as there are around 5 faculties over 60 students depending on subjects which are around 5-6. Faculties are well qualified as everyone has done their Ph.D. or M.Tech from renowned colleges like IITs and IIMs. The teaching method is common for all teachers, they teach on a blackboard, give notes and PPTs, and teach through PPTs in class too but knowledge of the professors of the subject varies and so do their methods. Some have interesting and more understandable teaching standards whereas few may not.
Since my sister is studying at SVNIT, I might be able to help you with your question. The placements at SVNIT in the department of chemical engineering are quite moderate.

After completing the degree, you can also opt for higher studies and go for research. The campus and the faculty members will help you with your project, thesis, presentations, etc.
If you want to sit for the placement drive, you can do it as well. The Training and Placement camp of the college will help you through and through. Some of the recruiting companies include Schlumberger Limited, GlaxoSmithKline, NTPC, GAIL, CIL, ONGC, Piramal Healthcare Limited, etc.
Considering the opportunities which may get available for you in the future, I would suggest you go for Chemical Engineering at NIT Surat as it would be a better option over metallurgy. As my sister studied there, I am very well aware of the college and its pros and cons.
