01 Jun, 2025 IIIT Surat Placement Report 2024-25 has been released. The Highest and Average Packages stood at INR 74 LPA and INR 13.99 LPA, respectively. Further, over 85 students were placed, of which 25% received a package of INR 15 LPA and above.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat, popularly known as IIIT Surat, was established in 2017 founded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The institute offers undergraduate and PhD programs, which lead to one primary degree: B.Tech. The institute offers a B.Tech program in two specialisations. IIIT Surat Campus

IIIT Surat has a campus with an area of approximately 28.71 acres. It includes classrooms equipped with projectors, well-equipped computer labs, a central library, hostels, sports grounds, and a canteen. The hostels have basic amenities like Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and common rooms. Students also have access to sports such as cricket, football, badminton, and more.

According to student reviews, the college doesn't have a hostel, so students need to travel about 30 minutes to reach the campus. The new campus is under construction and will be completed in 2027 according to college management. The quality of the food is not very good at the hostel and the college for some selected items.

The environment made by the seniors are really very helpful.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

Curriculum is totally based on new education policy. Along with course we need to put ourselves into the pool to achieve good experience in the field. Areas of improvement is depend on the faculty and the interest of students in the subject. Difficulty is good...and by the attentiveness in the class you can score excellent.

Campus internship opportunities and projects

Internship are provided to some of the students this year also...such as Paypal and AngleOne. Generally the project is totally based on the work done by them. These students are really indulge to make their project work and are reporting to the faculty after completion.

Various companies recruiting from the campus and highest package being offered

About completion of 4 sem the students become eligible for campus placement. PayPal, Infosys, Oracle , patym , Wamart , Samsung, Jogek etc. Highest placement is about 55 lakhs officially. And average placement is about 16 lakhs

Total fees of the course and scholarship

Tution fees is semester wise. Total about 11-12 lakhs including hostels and college. No reservations. No scholarships and financial support through the college. No job roles yet achieved because currently in first year...hope in next year

Various events, sports and library of the college

Generally the annual fest is Spring Fiesta in which the program is based on cultural, education and sports events in which participation as a volunteer or as a participant is taken by the students. Books are generally available in the library and it is renewed after 2 weeks. Classroom has projector and good seats with fans installed and good lights. Ground is not available for football, cricket, basketball, badminton etc. Different clubs SARAS, RUMINATE, GDSC, ABSTRACT,MALHAAR etc.

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

Room is good in length with tables, chair study light, bed, fan etc. but it is private. Because campus and hostel is not yet started yet. Poor meal but menu. Registration is done in hostel situated 12 km out of the city and college where there is not proper availablity of proper accomodation. Near hostel.

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

Eligibility is through Jee Mains ranking upto 29k in general. Application form is given after receiving seat in JOSAA/CSAB. NO RESERVATIONS Difficulty is based on your studies... generally the question are not too much hard. 3 hours. If your documents are correct then no need to wait!!! It will be done instantly at the office.

The Seniors of the college organizes College Fest regularly and don't even charge any extra fees like other college.The Director is very helpful and listent to the problem of students, he even provided Costly equipments to students for reasearch.
Most of the faculty's don't have any ego issues and are friendly like family members.They even provide IMP's before Examinations.The Labs are fully maintained have got decent amount of equipments.If a instrument gets damaged it gets replaced few days

The Girls to Boys ratio is 2:9. even in branches like Computer Science.

I applied for IIT's ,NIT's but wont be able toget admission in those due to low marks.Here you have to get admission Through Jossa Councelling and CSAB Councelling so it ends the possibility of addmissions through donation money.You have to passed the Jee mains Examinations with approximate of 97 percentalie if you are from Genral category 95 for OBC category and 80 for SC/ST Category.

Our colleges has only 2 branches and maximum of 600 students which makes us feel more known to each other like most of know each other.

Dislikes

Lack of own hostel and far from college many students stay in flat near the college which makes juniors less interacted with seniors.

I want to study in western part of india i.e. gujarat or maharashtra. So I've encountered all best colleges in these two states, offcourse iitb will be number 1 but i have just cleared advanced and not even scored good marks in it and in mains i got 40k rank so i couldn't get into circuital branch in nit nagpur and nit surat, so i have decided iiit nagpur , iiit surat and iiit pune. Unfortunately i couldn't get into iiit pune due to high cutoff and got seat in iiit surat in csab 2024. These college only accept jee mains score and no exams will be accepted for b.tech admissions, General cutoff of my college for cse is 35k and for ece is 47k in jee mains.

The college is very simple it focuses of an academic really very well and you don't get any cultural and sports academics benefit Radhe you should off for another college of you have interest in sports and cultural activities apart from it the academics are very hectic and for the admission you have to go through and you get this college the admission process of quite simple as you have to report and you have to just follow the procedures as we have been told in jail

IIIT Surat is best among all the IIITs!!

Likes

Since there are only two branches, the total strength of the college is just 650 and therefore it isn't crowded like IITs or other engineering colleges for that matter.
One canteen that serves all the purposes as it is huge and has a variety of dishes to offer.
IIIT Surat is far from the main city and therefore we don't have to deal with much of a traffic.

Dislikes

Since it's too far from main city, getting autos at night becomes impossible and therefore we can't catch night trains to go home.

Admission:

JEE scores are the basis of admissions and obviously initial choice was IITs but IIITs are also no less. Especially the Surat one as our college is totally commited in developing skills in us. Admission are defined as per our score and then the choices we have marked. So yes initially I was a bit sad but I am happy with how IIIT Surat operates.

Which is best for CS, IIIT Surat or IIIT Vadodara?

B.tech CSE course is better in IIIT Vadodara as ROI is better as the fee structure is around INR 9.4 lacs for 4 years with anaverage package of INR 15 lpa and placement percentage of 97% as compared to fee structure of INR 6.64 lacs for 4 years while the average package of INR 12.52 lpa and 67% of the students get placed.

With 93.28%ile in JEE Mains, you’re more likely to have a rank around 60,000, however the closing rank for Gen category students is 48750 and thus admission will be a bit difficult.

Are there any scholarships for General category students at IIIT Surat?

Yes, there are many scholarships for general students. The institute has decided on an eligibility criterion to avail of it. A 100% scholarship fee waiver is given to the students whose family income is INR 2.50 lakhs.
