Flora fauna is excellent, ponds and campus lakes are adding a beauty on it

First and foremost I liked the fact that it was close to my home
The placements in the college are pretty good even during the time of COVID it went up

Dislikes

The location of the college is not that great
The infrastructure isn't high end and the hostel services aren't up to the mark

Placement Experience:

Placements in this college is quite decent . Students are eligible to sit for placements at the start of 4th year The average placement percentage was 90 percent last year with max package of 52lpa and average of 16lpa (for cs) .Among core branches , the mech department is quite good offers good packages and also have great faculties .

The campus is very rich in flora. The campus also have many lakes which adds to the beauty of the college campus
The college have also have very helpful senior who mentors an individual in each and every situation

Dislikes

The infrastructural growth of the college is slow.. It also lacks basic infrastructural establishment
Food of some hostel are not upto the mark and need some serious improvement

Placement Experience:

The students starts getting intership from the end of second year. Many companies such as Amazon, Flipkart,atlassian,Goldman Sachs visit our campus for recruitment. The highest package offered is nearly 80Lpa and an avg package of 15Lpa Almost 80% of the students are placed in a general scenario

The campus life is very good. And the atmosphere around the campus is clean
We have a central library which is largest library in Asia.

Dislikes

Faculty members are quite boring but very talented
Exams are difficult to write but studying in academics can lead to good cgpa

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester,the students are eligible for placements and from third semester students are eligible for internships.Highest package of our college is eighty lakhs per annum and average package of our college is thirty lakhs per annum.

It has a good ecosystem and environment for studies
It has a beautiful campus with lots of lakes

The hostel mess food was not upto the mark
The weather of the place was a lot of humidity

Placement Experience:

We are probably eligible for college placement from out 7th sem i.e the start of our 4th year. Although many big company visitis our college like amazon ,microsoft, tata,realiance and they offer a hige amount.In 2023 the highest package was 44lakh and the average was around 14lpa.Around 90% students of cse are placed. After completing my degree i will look for a job as a software developer

Likes

The ambience of Nit Silchar is good. The college provides opportunities to grow and develop yourselves.
The Clubs and Societies are very helpful in building soft skills and management, also including technical knowledge. Being active in the clubs was beneficial for me.

Dislikes

The infrastructures should be a bit advanced. Renovation needs to be done throughout the college
The academic guidelines should be improvised for the betterment of the students. Also the way of teaching in the classrooms should be improved.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for sitting for placements. There are many companies that visit NIT Silchar every year naming a few, AWS, Amazon, Flipkart, Uber, OYO, ONGC, Indian oil, banks, Jindal steels, Zedus, Oracle and many more. Out of 1000 students in Every batch 600 offers are made minimum. Percentage of students getting placed depends upon branches. As per last year there was 100 percent placement for CSE, 92 percent for ECE, 76 for mechanical, 82 for electrical, 85 for Eie and 70 for civil. My plans after getting the degree is to get in a well established IT company for a job.

Culture and exposure is very nice good coding culture
Asia biggest library and world class infrastructure

Dislikes

Hostel food is very bad not not very hygiene
Classroom are very old and most projector don't work

From 7 semester students became eligible for campus placement More than 50 companies visit our campus every year Some big name include Atlassian , Google ,Amazon etc In cse above 90 percentage gets placed with avg being 18lpa and highest 84 lpa

Likes

Large campus of 600+ acres. 18+ lakes. Also there is a tea garden behind the college. The nature is untouched. In total the raw beauty of the nature inside the college is untouched.
The infrastructure of the campus is really good including well equipped labs, libraries and sports complex. Which ensures the overall development of the student.

Dislikes

The Institute is in a remote area surrounded by nature which might not attractive to everyone. Specially those who grew up in a urban area and looking for a vibrant life.
Due to it is in a remote area. There is less entertainment & social life opportunities outside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good here. But after the covid situation now the placement isn't good enough like it used to be. But overall it's good enough if you compare it with other colleges in the northeast india.

I like the campus life. The campus is very green and big.
I like the hostel life. All the hostels are well maintained and all provide wifi.

Dislikes

I don't like the mess food at all. Too much oil and masala.
Sometimes wifis have not work properly leading frustrations among the hostelers.

Placement Experience:

Placements of NIT Silchar is very good. The Highest package this year is 1.2 cr LPA . The average package is 26 LPA. The highest placements are from CSE, ECE and EIE departments. 100% placements from CSE dept. in the year of 2023.

The college life is wonderful as the campus is fully green lushed.
The faculty here are highly focused in research domain so that they can help students in research field.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th Semester onwards. The name of companies visited are basically MNC's and unicorn companies and the highest offer made was 80lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed are around 98-99% . My plans after getting the degree is that to get placed in any MNC's.

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.

Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
