Flora fauna is excellent, ponds and campus lakes are adding a beauty on it

We have better placement opportunities in our college.
We have the Asia's 2nd largest digital library.

Quality of the food provided at the mess is not good at all
Infrastructure has not developed and it has poor sanitization.

Placement Experience:

The placement percentage of this college is more than 95%. The average package offered in our college is 14LPA. The highest package stood at 80LPA offered by Atlassian.Median CTC is about 9LPA. Most of the top companies like Amazon, AWS, Atlassisn, Tata projects, L&T , Adani projects, Vedanta, Cisco, Oil India Limited, BPCL,etc comes to our college.After the degree I am opting for higher studies.

Why should you come to NIT SILCHAR?

Likes

Teachers and professors are well educated. Even the non teaching staff are quite polite and educated.
Even the job opportunities are one of the best in entire North Eastern colleges and as compared to many NITs as this college is very old.

Dislikes

Campus infrastructure needs improvement. Otherwise the college is good to go.
There should be more playgrounds and recreational centres for the students.

Placement Experience:

I joined this college for placement opportunities only. This college has the record for providing one of the most highest package in entire north easy with max salary of 80 lakhs per annum (off Campus). Campus placements go as high as 52 lpa in CSE. In my branch,.PSU gives highest placement offer like OIL India. Profiles offered can be in many sectors like core, tech, management roles, banking roles, teaching roles etc. Percentage of students getting placed in my branch is around 75 percent. Average package is about 7-8 lpa. After getting the degree let's see, I can either do the job if I get in campus placement or I can opt for MBA as an option.

I like the environment in which the education is studied.
Good food provided in the canteen and in the hostels

Dislikes

In the rainy season there are more no of power cuts.
hostels food is not suitable for the people who come from south india there are not so many spices added.

The campus is large and beautiful and feel so fresh.
The campus has many lakes. More than 20 lakes

Dislikes

Mess food is not nice. Tastes so bad yaak.
Hostels are not so comfortable. Feels old.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 4th year that is 7th sem. More than 80 parcent got placement in this college. I will go for offline that is off campus placement in Bihar board. Overall good college for placement

good co curriculum activities present in the campus.

Dislikes

faculties are not helpful and supportive.
it is very far away from north so transportation difficulties.

Placement Experience:

placement is not upto the mark for core only few company visit for core placement.with an average package of 7lpa. but it companies gives large amount of package so you can opt for that.but you can also sit for non core placement.

The campus of nit silchar , as it is one of the biggest and beautiful campus among nits in the country.
Bonding between juniors and seniors is very nice. We don't call our seniors sir/maam but we call them bhaiya/didi

Dislikes

the campus of Nit Silchar is very far away from the other metro cities.
the campus is very huge so it takes time for going from one place to other.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements of nit silchar are good with a placement percentage of 89.40%. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Mastercard, Goldman sachs , samsung , L&T visit our campus.The highest pacakage in 2022-2023 went for 80lpa.

I liked the environment of our campus it is very green also the air quality is very good which makes our campus a healthy campus
Another thing I like is the infrastructure of our campus buildings all the building have there unique shape and quality

Dislikes

Things I dislike is road they must be renovated
And there is no proper treatment of sewage in campus

After 7th semester student are eligible to sit in campus placement interview Some of the companies visited are Amazon,byjus, reliance,whipro,tata, Mahindra etc Highest package is8000000 and average package is 1500000 On average 80 percent of students are getting placement from ouslr campus My plans is getting a good package placement after the graduation

I like the infra structure of our collage .
I like the greenary in our collage which makes nit silchar as one of top most beautiful nit .

Dislikes

I don't like the old buildings and i think some buildings should be revenueatrd .
I don't like the roads of our collage and they should be re built .

Placement Experience:

Students are elligible for campus interviews from 7th semister . The companies visited to our collage are amazon , bijus , tcs etc.. and many offers were received . The highest paccage in civil engineering is 27 lpa and average package was arount 8 . Nearly 85 percent students get placed in which 105 students got placed out of 120. Ny plans after getting degree is to get well placed in campus interview and become a best civil engineer.

I like faculty in my collage great faculty was alloted and highly experienced faculty.
I like the greenery in our collage which makes our beautiful and different from many colleges.

Dislikes

I don't like the some buildings of our campus and i think they should be renovated.
I don't like that our collage is present in city outscuts.

The eligibility for campus placements is from seventh semister. The companies visited in our campus are amazon,byjus ,tcs, mahindra etc.. and in civil engineer 97 offers were made out of 120 members. 27 lpa was offered in civil engineering and average paccage was 8 lpa . The percentage of students getting placed if approximately 80 percent in civil engeneering My plans after getting degree is to try for campus placements .

Likes

The environment and atmosphere of NIT Silchar is too good.
Faculty wise NIT Silchar had a better experienced professors.

Dislikes

As it is in a small village and very far from town it becomes difficult for transporting.
Home state quota dominates other state students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Civil engineering is one of the best engineering course in NIT Silchar. Faculty wise professors are well trained graduates from different well reputed institutes. Nearly 25 professors are there for 160 students. They are well equipped with best teaching skills. In a semester after 2 months mid semester exams are conducted and after 2 months end semester exams would be conducted.

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.

Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
