The academics here may be tough but they are enjoyable. Professors are good and the cources here train you to be great. They are tough but relevant
The clubs here provide great exposure to various things. There are both cultural and technology clubs

Dislikes

Climate is extreme. It's too cold or too hot during winters and summers.
The grading is harsh you have to work really hard to score.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Initially the some courses in first year are irrelevant but you will enjoy reading them since they are good. Ultimately since we are given the option of branch Change we have to study them. But the courses make you industry ready and great.

Internships Opportunities :

During 3rd year SPO brings various companies to campus which provide internships. The opportunities are plenty and many projects are offered due to clubs and all. The outcome is great. Professor projects, club projects, startup projects etc

Placement Experience :

The college offers various placement opportunities. Many companies come and take people. It's usually starts in the month of December in the final year. I can tell about my branch average package is 33 lakhs and about some 90 lakh is highest package. Various tech non teach companies come like Google, Microsoft, sprinkler etc The minimum salary offered is 6 lakh per annum. People can easily get placement outside college because of IIT tag.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you have family income less than 5 lakhs then there is no need to pay even a single rupee. Even caste based reservations are there. There are various scholarships available which a student can easily available.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure is great except hostels. Anyways who stays in hostel. The library, lecture halls all are air conditioned. The labs are great. We have supercomputer. We can access the campus computets till night 2 clock and believe me there are many. The sport opportunities are huge with coaches in almost every sport. We have cultural clubs which give huge experience. The clubs under student Gymkhana are great

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms are little congested but it's fine you will get used to it. The fees is low. The food is good compared to all other messes . The menu is revised every month. So enjoy. The hostel facilities are good not complainable. The registration process is along the college admission.

Hostel Fee : INR 50000 per year

Admission :

I had to clear JEE exam to come here. The rank I had was 2908. I am from general category. Anyways reservations are there which can be availed. JOSAA councelling provided every single step for this. The admission is very smooth you just need to have computer

Faculty :

The student teacher ratio depanfs on course to cource. Some courses have 1: 600 ratio whereas some have 1:20. But the faculty is too good and we are given high support from technical team and other seniors. The faculty are well trained and they have huge experience. They are approachable.

All about Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur

Placement Experience:

The placement statistics of IITK is great. Every year many 1cr+ packages as well as international packages are offered by top companies to students. The placement percentage is also increasing every year. The students become eligible to apply for companies after 3rd year ie. after 6th semester. The highest package offered was 4cr per annum while the average package was 22lacs per annum. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good paying job and start working.

There campus placements are very impressive. But in our branch the placement have not been started because it is new branch but it have very promising hopes of good employment in the upcoming years. Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is relevant but it maybe little bit hectic in starting. Maths courses are lot theoretical than JEE where you only have to calculate and no matter how. Here you have to write a mathematical essay on a question and essay should be to the point too

The LIFE IN IIT KANPUR

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college is very impressive.From 3rd year onwards students are eligible campus placement.The Students having CPI 7 ARE eligible for campus placements , they wil not see only academics,they will also see in which they have participated,what are they capable in college programs in achieving, does he have leadership qualities or not , these many things they observe while doing campus placements . There are many companies visited to our campus, i will mention some of them like Google, Amazon, Zomato, Microsoft, TCS , ETC... In each branch nearly 150 to 200 offers are made .In my college the last year highest package is 8.9 crores and the average pakage is above 35 lakhs .The percentage of students getting campus placements is 89percentage .And my plan is getting the job in campus placements

Life after JEE

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course as i loved mathematics. And i was eligible to take this course on the basis of jee rank. The faculty student ratio is about 11.This is a top tier institute in India and hence the faculty are highly qualified with post doctorate degrees in thier respective domain from well known universities.They teach in asuch a way that ignites my curiosity in that course.We are taught some courses out of our discipline so we can explore more things.Mid sem exams are held after 2 months of starting of semester followed by end sems after other two months.quizes are held on certain dates keeping into consideration the convenience of students as well as the faculties.
