Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is more focused on pure mathematics but it's balanced nonetheless. There are plenty of courses and electives in applied maths too. There are midsems and endsems in every semester. Apart from these, the instructor may take some quizzes and assignments for grading. Most of them use relative grading.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees is not much compared to other institutions. There's also scholarships such as MCM (Merit cum Means) to support students from financially weak background. For the first year of my masters, I paid ?60365 which included Tuition fees, Hostel Rent fees and the Mess Establishment Charges.
Campus Life :
For the MSc (2yr) students, there's not much scope for joining clubs. They prefer UG students such as BTech and BS. But one can participate in the events that the clubs organise. There are a lot of fests such as Antragini, Techkriti, etc. There are two Student Activity Centres for indoor games, gym, yoga, etc. The library is well equipped with resources and books.
Admission :
For the MSc Mathematics program, one needs to qualify the JAM MA paper. After the results are announced, the counselling is done through the JOAPS portal. The cutoff for general category is usually AIR 220.
Faculty :
The professors are approachable. Interactions in class are encouraged. One can schedule a meeting even after class hours to discuss and get their doubts solved. All the professors are leading researchers in their respective fields. If you interested, they can guide you through projects and internships under them.
