Remarks :
In summary, I can say, it was the right decision to choose IIT Bombay. I enjoyed the extra activities and managed to score well in academics and grabbed good placement.
Entrance Preview :
GATE, scored AIR 209 choose IIT Bombay because-1.good placements and lots of extra activities 2. Near my hometown.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We had to choose 10 courses of our choice and complete one Master's project. One elective from other dept is a must. I choose the philosophy of education. I mostly choose courses in cryptography, number theory, network.
Internships Opportunities :
For M Tech, there were no internships. However, I did an R&D project with a network solution company. We did not get any stipend as this is counted as the one-course subject.
Placement Experience :
Placement season started on 1st Dec. Microsoft offered 12 LPA Walmart offered 14 LPA, We had many options to choose from, but once you are placed in one company, you can not appear in other interviews.
College Events :
Mood indigo - generally happens in December last week. It is really amazing and students from all over India come to the 4-day event. Each day there is some guest performance in the evening. This event is managed by students only.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Feasible. College fees are approximately 19k and hostel and mess fees approximately 14k In each semester we have to pay 33k. But for M Tech students, we used to get 8k per month as a stipend.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Campus Life :
Campus life is very good. you can balance courses and extra activities simultaneously. There are different workshops conducted for students like swimming, dancing, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
First-year, you get sharing accommodation. In the second year, you get a separate room. There is a total of 14 hostels (12 boys and 2 girls). The mess is good, provide 4 meals a day.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, IIT Bombay has a very good alumni network, if someone needs help, alumina does come forward and help. We have a google group to discuss and share our views. We get an alumina card.
Exam Structure :
The first semester is a bit hectic due to a software lab course and the other 4 courses. The rest of the semesters are a bit relaxed. In the second year, you have one project and two or three courses. Course exams are structured by the professor, generally mid-sem and end-sems.
Faculty :
The faculty is excellent and helpful. You can approach anytime and can get the doubts cleared. The faculty is very knowledgeable. Sometimes I had to approach the faculty of different departments and they are very happy to help.
