Remarks :
For admission into IITs, one needs to qualify JEE advanced exam. After the exam for admissions, a body named josaa conducts the councelling process which consists of 6 rounds. Every reservation rule set by the central government is followed here during the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am pursuing a BS in ECONOMICS from IIT BOMBAY. Talking about the course, it's much more interesting and I think I was more interested towards how money works, the share market etc. so I found this course interesting and I joined here. Faculties at IIT BOMBAY are all PhD holders and teach very well. Also about the student-faculty ratio, it is 15:1. Exams are quite hard but since courses are much more practically oriented every student here enjoys the academic part
Internships Opportunities :
Many MNCs like Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, etc many companies offer internships here. Students usually apply for internships at the end of their 6th semester. Many students also get PPO after their internship.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario of IIT Bombay is very good. Around 100 per cent of students get placed in very good packages. Many students also get internships at the end of their 6th sem. The average package of IIT Bombay last year was 25 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Total fees for four years are around 12 lakhs. Students who belong to SC/ST are exempted from academic fees and also whose parental income is less than 1 lakh are also exempted from tuition fees which are around 1 lakh per semester. Many scholarships are offered here which includes various central government and private scholarships of which information is provided from time to time
Campus Life :
IIT BOMBAY has a huge campus of 530 acres. The campus is located in the centre of Mumbai City so everything is within reach of a few minutes. We also have Domino's, chayos in the CPUs with subsidised rates. Also, each hostel has its own canteen which is open till 3 am. Classrooms are very good with every facility one can think of. IIT BOMBAY also has many active clubs.
Hostel Facilities :
So basically there are 18 hostels at IIT BOMBAY. For the first three years, there are double sharing rooms and in the final year, students get to stay in a single room. Hostels are equipped with all basic facilities like washing machine, water purifier, common room etc.
