Remarks :

IIT Ropar is one of the best institute's of the country in terms of high end research and I found my desired field (Artificial Intelligence) that I wanted to pursue in my PhD. The college is still building into its full capacity in terms of infrastructure and student capacity, but the permanent campus is one of its kind with all the facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Great faculty and everyone is available to help you out. Amazing atmosphere in terms of study culture. Student ratio is quite good in CSE dept. Every faculty member has there own technique of teaching and more than capable in there respective fields having qualifications from IITs and good foreign institutes. It terms of exam it is very competitive like any other IIT, but it's all relative.

Class Size : 8Course Fees : INR 8000 per year

Placement Experience :

As all the other IITs including the old ones, the placements are great and students can grab very high salary offers. I can only talk about CSE dept here and I would say that students have amazing opportunities to get placed in all the high class multi national companies.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure for PhD students is great, with minimal tution fees and affordable mess plus hostel fees. Students coming through proper channels get scholarship from MHRD, and there are many opportunities to avail other fellowships as well throughout the course.

Campus Life :

As the institute is still growing into its full capacity, the clubs and activities are still in the low counts, but every festival and tech and culture fest are setup in the best possible manner with great social atmosphere and also the institute has amazing sports facilities and will be the venue of future inter IIT meets.

Hostel Facilities :

PhD students get single room accomodation with proper facilities and it's quite good to stay in the hostel and you can enjoy the late night campus life. The meals are quite good and regular feedback helps in keeping the menu fresh for students. The outside accomodation are quite limited due to the campus location but based on current student capacity, everyone can avail a room in the hostel.

Admission :

Gate score (my score 551), entrance exam and interview (mandatory). Btech and mtech in particular field and also direct admission into PhD after btech.

The Student life at IITs is vibrant, Funfull and more challenging.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good. But not God for some departments. Many companies like Tata, google, Mahindra, skyroot, spacefield, Vikash group etc. Offer of 35 lac for google. Google 35lac, Vikash group 7 lac and the average for the total could be 8 lac for all departments. 70% Students get placed and some go for start-up and higher studies

IIT Ropar Review

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course was chosen due to I have done my post-graduation in material science-related project. That's why i have enrolled in this course. The papers are well related to the research area on which they want to research. There should be some improvement required on the course curriculum i.e there should be some moderns technology subjects must be included and teaching methodologies should be easy to understandable. In a semester generally, two exams were conducted (i.e. mid sem and end sem) and the level is a little bit difficult.

General overview of IIT Ropar

Remarks:

1. It is one of the premier institutes in India. 2. It is near to my home town Jammu.3. The CSE faculty is very good. Almost everyone of them has at least one degree from international university like Yale, Georgia Tech, University of Waterloo, etc.

A place to experience life

Remarks:

It's a good place. No one regrets while being here. As we say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So it would be very mean to say too good or too bad. It's all about how one feels for himself or herself. Rest, college is good, management is also good. Being a central govt institute you won't face any major issues related to management or else.
